According to TVLine's Vlada Gelman, Brian Dietzen who plays Dr. Donald "Ducky" Mallard's right-hand man, Jimmy Palmer, has been promoted to series regular for season 10 of NCIS. Here's an excerpt from the original article, which gives some details on Deitzem's promotion:
Although Ducky shall live to see another day, his apparent heart attack in last month’s season finale would suggest that Palmer’s responsibilities at the office are bound to grow in Season 10 — something that pleases Dietzen greatly.
“I’m very excited,” the actor tells EW.com. “After eight years of being with the show, I got a contract with CBS, and I couldn’t be happier about it.”
