The Big Bang Theory: Scoop on episode 7x06 from Entertainment Weekly's Sandra Gonzalez

Here's some scoop on The Big Bang Theory from Entertainment Weekly's Sandra Gonzalez's The Spoiler Room column, which was posted on 9/27/13.

Sandra! I hope this makes it into spoiler room, but I loved the Big Bang Theory premiere. Any scoopage to share on the rest of the season? — Margaret
Episode 6 is going to feature a guest appearance from someone you probably thought you’d never see on the show: Albert Einstein! Don’t worry, BBT isn’t doing a time travel episode. He pops up in a dream.

The Vampire Diaries: Stefan and Elena related scoop on the season 5 premiere (Episode 5x01 "I Know What You Did Last Summer") and scoop on episode 5x04 "For Whom the Bell Tolls" from Entertainment Weekly's Sandra Gonzalez

Here's some scoop on The Vampire Diaries from Entertainment Weekly's Sandra Gonzalez's The Spoiler Room column, which was posted on 9/27/13.

Can you tell me about this supposed Stelena moment in the Vampire Diaries season premiere? — Brandy
Before you get all excited, I will tell you that it may not happen exactly how you’re imagining. There’s definitely a twist there (because, remember, they aren’t exactly next door to each other). That said, if your heart doesn’t swell while watching it, you’re as heartless as Katherine (used?) to be!

I NEED some Vampire Diaries. PLEASE! — Brianna
If you cry during the season premiere (hint: you will), then make sure you have EXTRA boxes of tissues for episode 4. I’m told it’s a whopper of an hour.

Downton Abbey: Mary related scoop on season 4 from Entertainment Weekly's Sandra Gonzalez

Here's some scoop on Downton Abbey from Entertainment Weekly's Sandra Gonzalez's The Spoiler Room column, which was posted on 9/27/13.

SANDRA! Any scoop on Downton Abbey? I’ve promised myself I wouldn’t bootleg but would love some teases. — Erika
Could having Matthew dead be even BETTER than watching him and Mary alive? Maybe not in fans’ opinions. But creator Julian Fellowes certainly thinks it packs a punch. “To be honest dramatizing Mary rebuilding herself is more interesting than just two people being happy,” he told us at EW’s pre-Emmy bash. “It will be interesting to see how the Americans take to the way we dealt with that, but I think it’s strong [season].” Now, if only we could see it AT THE SAME TIME AS THE UK. This is the last time I’ll rant about this. Probably.

Beauty & the Beast: Scoop on Vincent's transformation into his beast form in season 2 from Entertainment Weekly's Sandra Gonzalez

Here's some scoop on Beauty and the Beast from Entertainment Weekly's Sandra Gonzalez's The Spoiler Room column, which was posted on 9/27/13.

Sandra, I’m still fanning myself after that Beauty and the Beast photo you tweeted. How is it possibly Jay Ryan even looks sexy in full beast mode? Anyway, have you seen the episode? Any teases? — Joan
Saw it. Loved it. And fans’ll love it too. You may have heard a lot about the “changes” that Vincent goes through that put a strain on their relationship (specifically, he’s all Grrr-y now) and while you get the sense it will definitely be a battle to recover what they once had, there’s one very important gesture he makes that will fill your heart with hope.

Bones: Sweets related scoop on episode 9x03 "El Carnicero en el Coche" from Entertainment Weekly's Sandra Gonzalez

Here's some scoop on Bones from Entertainment Weekly's Sandra Gonzalez's The Spoiler Room column, which was posted on 9/27/13.

So is Sweets really leaving Bones next week? — Diane
They’ll explain in the episode, but I wouldn’t count on him being gone for too long. That said, Sweets is definitely on a mission to explore important deeds outside the Jeffersonian — and by the end, the rest of the team will understand that. It’s a very, pun-intended, Sweet episode.

American Horror Story: Scoop on Evan Peters and Taissa Farmiga's roles in season 3 from Entertainment Weekly's Sandra Gonzalez

Here's some scoop on American Horror Story: Coven from Entertainment Weekly's Sandra Gonzalez's The Spoiler Room column, which was posted on 9/27/13.

Those AHS: Coven opening credits gave me the creeps. Have any scoop on the season? — Eric
I’m glad you asked! I actually had a chance to chat with Evan Peters today when he came in to do one of EW’s Pop Culture Personality Tests (Spoiler: He mentions Alex Mack, guys.) And while he couldn’t say much about the new season, in which he plays a Tulane frat boy who takes a liking to Taissa Farmiga’s Zoe, he did give a little insight into their meeting.  ”They go to a party and he sees Taissa’s character there and immediately falls in love. It’s love at first sight,” he says. ” Then…to be determined.” And while the series is well-known for its darkness, Peters also spilled that fans can expect a more humor-injected tone. “The writing this year is funny. In between the scary stuff, it’s lighter and glamorous and sexy and funny and very cool.”

Once Upon a Time: Scoop on the season 3 premiere (Episode 3x01 "The Heart of the Truest Believer") from Entertainment Weekly's Sandra Gonzalez

Here's some scoop on Once Upon a Time from Entertainment Weekly's Sandra Gonzalez's The Spoiler Room column, which was posted on 9/27/13.

Sandra! Can you tell me anything exciting about the Once Upon a Time premiere? — Jennifer
Tensions on the big ship will reach an intense climax — one that will find Snow and Regina coming to blows! And they’re not the only ones. That’s right: HOTTIE FIGHT! Charming vs. Hook. I’d buy that one on pay-per-view!

Any Once Upon a Time scoopage? — Cam
I think Hook/Emma fans are going to like the premiere. Not that there’s a Moment or anything. But I certainly got the impression they’re having a little fun with these two this year more than ever. How far will it go, though? That was one of the questions posted to EPs Eddy Kitsis and Adam Horowitz during a press conference after a select few got to view the first two episodes. I will share scoop from that chat this Sunday after the west coast airing of the premiere!

The Good Wife: Scoop on the season 5 premiere (Episode 5x01 "Everything is Ending") from Entertainment Weekly's Sandra Gonzalez

Here's some scoop on The Good Wife from Entertainment Weekly's Sandra Gonzalez's The Spoiler Room column, which was posted on 9/27/13.

Good Wife! PLEASE! It starts in exactly three days and you’ve given me zero scoops! — Nina
Having just screened the premiere (it’s SOOOOO good), here are three teases: 1) Someone gets an unexpected promotion. 2) Thanks to the family’s new notoriety, one of the Florrick kids finds themselves in the spotlight. And 3) You won’t see an announcement about the new firm yet (though, it has been teased we can expect an “explosion” of drama at the firm) but one of the reasons for the delay has Alicia rolling her eyes. Oh, fourth years…

The Mentalist: Scoop on the future of Jane and Lisbon's relationship in season 6 from Entertainment Weekly's Sandra Gonzalez

Here's some scoop on The Mentalist from Entertainment Weekly's Sandra Gonzalez's The Spoiler Room column, which was posted on 9/27/13.

‘THE MENTALIST’: HOW WILL JANE AND LISBON’S RELATIONSHIP CHANGE AFTER RED JOHN IS CAUGHT?
We have several episodes to go before Red John is caught. (But having seen Sunday’s season premiere, I can tell you they waste NO time narrowing down the suspects.) That said, we know an end is coming, which begs the question: What comes next for The Mentalist — and The Mentalist?

If we’re talking about the show itself, there’s an answer. But exec producer Bruno Heller wouldn’t utter a word about it when I sat down with him last week with some other reporter. (“I can’t say more than that because arcs by their nature, as soon as you shoot an arrow in the air, it lands somewhere. And I don’t want to shoot that arrow quite yet,” he says.) He merely confirmed that another big arc will make itself clear and it would have a personal connection to our characters. But while he was mum on that front, he, Simon Baker, and Robin Tunney were very forthcoming about how Jane and Lisbon would change post-Red John, saying after the storm, there will be much for both characters to deal with emotionally.

“I think they’re both going to start thinking in ways that they never have before about the other person,” Heller says. “They’ve always had this mission but now the mission is gone. After that, they have the luxury of thinking of each other as individuals — a man and a woman. That’s going to be explored in-depth.”

Baker, meanwhile, says he doesn’t see the post-RJ world as a shift in dynamic for the pair so much as an opportunity to explore interesting questions. “Do they look at each other and go, ‘Jesus you’re annoying’ or do they look at each other and go ‘Let’s lay down and make love,” he says. “It’s an interesting road to go down,” agrees Tunney.

But is it safe to say that Jane and Lisbon will at least admit their love for each other? Well, Heller hesitates to use the word love in a romantic sense, but, he says, “I think there’s a great deal of love between them and they now have to find out what kind of love that is and what does it mean.”

Here's some scoop on White Collar from Entertainment Weekly's Sandra Gonzalez's The Spoiler Room column, which was posted on 9/27/13.

White Collar scoopage please! — Monica
In the premiere, Peter does get a get-out-of-jail-free card (you didn’t REALLY expect them to keep him in the pokey, right?) but it happens in a way that will definitely cause problems down the line. I won’t say for who. Meanwhile, baby bump alert! Yup, someone’s preggo. Guess who?

Scandal: Olivia, Fitz, Mellie and Cyrus related scoop on season 3 from Entertainment Weekly's Sandra Gonzalez

Here's some scoop on Scandal from Entertainment Weekly's Sandra Gonzalez's The Spoiler Room column, which was posted on 9/27/13.

Scandal scoop for Gladiators!! — Mara
If you saw the sneak peek I offered up earlier, then you already know: Mellie is going to come in and help Olivia and Fitz help figure out a way out of this sticky situation the administration find itself in. And at EW’s pre-Emmy party this weekend, the gorgeous Bellamy Young elaborated, saying “Mellie is ready to handle things….she has very specific ideas about who to throw under the bus. She will see her plan implemented come hell or high water.” But, she warned, “of course it will inevitably blow up in her face as Mellie’s plans tend to.”

I will take any form of Scandal info you can give me. #Prettypleasewithfitzontop — Roslyn
How can I deny that offer?! Here’s something from Jeff Perry: “Somewhere in the first couple of episodes, Cyrus is transported to an ominous location in the trunk of a car.”

Castle: Alexis related scoop from Entertainment Weekly's Sandra Gonzalez

Here's some scoop on Castle from Entertainment Weekly's Sandra Gonzalez's The Spoiler Room column, which was posted on 9/27/13.

Sandra! Loved the season premiere of Castle. But I was sad we didn’t get to see Alexis’s reaction to the proposal. Will we ever flash back to that? — Violet
As mentioned in my post-mortem with EP Andrew Marlowe, we will see her reaction in certain behavioral ways. One thing I didn’t tell you in that article? The cast and crew are currently working on a very interesting hour that centers on Alexis and her fight to free a man on death row. “We have an interesting episode where Alexis has been involved in an Innocence Project-type case with her professor that has not gone well and last-ditch efforts have not exculpated the guy. So with 72 hours left, she ends up recruiting her father to help,” he says. “It’s a really moving episode that allows Castle and his daughter — along with Beckett helping — to them to spend a lot of time together and also talk about what it means to be a family. That’s something we’re really excited about.” Me too!

NCIS: Scoop on the aftermath of Cote de Pablo/Ziva's exit from the show from Entertainment Weekly's Sandra Gonzalez

Here's some scoop on NCIS from Entertainment Weekly's Sandra Gonzalez's The Spoiler Room column, which was posted on 9/27/13.

‘NCIS’: MICHAEL WEATHERLY ON HOW TONY COPES WITH ZIVA’S DEPARTURE
NCIS fans may be waiting eagerly/nervously/anxiously for next week’s farewell to Ziva episode, but while the wound of Ziva’s departure is going to be very fresh after next Tuesday, over at the set, they’ve had a few episodes to deal with the shock and are looking toward the future with high hopes. Especially Michael Weatherly, who opened up to me about the upcoming addition of Emily Wickersham as a new agent named Bishop. “We’re excited about is having Emily join us on these little adventures we do every week and seeing how she is in the world that we create together,” he says. “I hope the audience likes her as much as we did right away.”

But to those who are worried about a possible romance between the two, Weatherly assures that’s probably the last thing on Tony’s mind. “I don’t think there’s any chance of Bishop being involved in that in any way. If anything, she would be deeply, deeply off-limits for him,” he says with a chuckle. “It won’t even enter his brain — and that’s another thing. I think she’s going to be very attractive, but I just don’t think DiNozzo will see her like that for even a heartbeat. I think there’s a level of maturity for him. He’s averse to anyone who would sit at that desk, I think.

Weatherly sees Tony’s maturity shining through in other ways, too, he says, particularly when it comes to the character’s attention-seeking ways. “Here’s a funny thing I’ve discovered: when it’s just McGee, DiNozzo and Gibbs in the squad room, DiNozzo doesn’t really have anyone to perform for,” he says. “Tony just kind of calms down and does his job.” That said, there’s still fun to be had. Proof? There’s a headslap coming. And while Weatherly wouldn’t elaborate, he did call it “a classic moment.”

You've come the right place, fellow binge-watcher. The season-five premiere episode is titled "A Murder of Crowes," and yes, that's a nod to the Crowe family. Dean Norris explains that he has had a change of heart and is now hoping that Walt will be able to survive the end of the series with his heart still beating. "I used to [root for him to die], but actually, he kind of begged for Hank's life. I thought he redeemed himself a little bit, to be quite honest with you, so I'm fine if he lives now," He says. Either way, Norris promises a finale that Breaking Bad fans will never forget saying, "It's like a freight train, they just power through and it's awesome. You're going to love it."

Masters of Sex: Scoop on episode 1x02 "Race to Space" from TVLine's Matt Webb Mitovich

Here's some scoop on Masters of Sex from this week's (Posted on 9/26/13) Matt's Inside Line column.

I just watched the first episode of Masters of Sex (premiering Sunday), thanks to Showtime, and was wondering how are they going to play the Masters and Johnson relationship? Michael Sheen and Lizzy Caplan have amazing chemistry together! –Ti
If you’ve seen the premiere, you know very well the huge cliffhanger it leaves us with. And let’s just say that before an answer can be spoken, something quite dramatic happens to interrupt the moment. P.S. I totally agree about the lead actors; Caplan in particular is wowing me in every episode.

The Mentalist: More scoop on Jane and Lisbon's relationship in season 6 from TVLine's Matt Webb Mitovich

Here's some scoop on The Mentalist from this week's (Posted on 9/26/13) Matt's Inside Line column.

Are we finally getting the good stuff on The Mentalist this season? And by “good stuff,” I totally mean the Jane/Lisbon relationship. –Katherine
I answered a similar Q last week, but have since come upon this bit of Simon Baker gold that’s too good not to share. As he puts it, “Like any relationship that’s put into a pressure situation, the relationship tends to suffer a little duress… and there’s always the question of what’s there when they climb off the trapeze, off the high wire, when they’re on solid terra firma and there is no dust to settle or anything, no obstacle or hurdle…. Do they look at each other and go ‘Jesus, you’re annoying’ or do they look at each other and go, ‘Let’s lay down and make love’?” (Ed. Note: For the record, some are known to do it standing up.)

Law & Order: SVU: Benson related scoop from TVLine's Matt Webb Mitovich

Here's some scoop on Law & Order: SVU from this week's (Posted on 9/26/13) Matt's Inside Line column.

The SVU premiere was rough, had me in tears. Any idea what’s the longterm forecast for Benson and Cassidy? –Melissa
The forecast looks a bit bumpy, if only because Benson will put up a tough front as her beau tries to glean what she needs coming out of that ordeal. “Benson is so stoic that she’s hard to crack, and that’s what were going through right now, her letting me in — and so far she’s not,” Dean Winters shares. “We’re working on the fifth episode now, and we’re slowly trickling into that story.” But for however long it takes, Winters is anxious to be on hand. Having rejoined the NBC drama last spring, he says, “I hope they have me for the rest of the series!”

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Scoop on explaining how Coulson survived Loki's attack in The Avengers from TVLine's Matt Webb Mitovich

Here's some scoop on Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. from this week's (Posted on 9/26/13) Matt's Inside Line column.

I know we won’t know for a bit about how Coulson survived Loki, but can the writers of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. at least promise us that they do have an answer in mind, and they won’t make it up at the 11th hour? –Joel T
It is on the record that Joss Whedon, in asking Clark Gregg to do S.H.I.E.L.D., sketched out for the actor some of the Level 7 details about Coulson’s après-Avengers existence. So at least some of the story is living in Whedon’s noggin. But, he has said, “It will be something of a drawn-out explanation… drawn out over several episodes.”

The Blacklist: Elizabeth related scoop from TVLine's Matt Webb Mitovich

Here's some scoop on The Blacklist from this week's (Posted on 9/26/13) Matt's Inside Line column.

I really loved the first episode of The Blacklist. Will Elizabeth Keene at one point find out the truth about who her husband really is? –Daniel
Outside of the boxful of passports and money she found hidden in their home, “Elizabeth doesn’t have anything to go on right now,” Ryan Eggold, who plays Tom, points out, “so the next few episodes is her trying to deduce if she can trust this man that she’s married to. But in terms of it taking a big leap towards something really happening, it’s like Episode 5, I think, when things really shift, in a big way.”

I’ve heard a rumour that we will meet Rumple’s father in Once Upon a Time Season 3. Is this real? –OUAT Spain
This much is real: Episode 4, titled “Nasty Habits,” will serve up Rumple’s first backstory of the season. “We’ve hinted in the past that his father was a coward and that his father’s name was something that haunted him and that his father left him,” cocreator Eddy Kitis reminds. “He definitely seems to have [Daddy issues].”

Castle: Scoop on episode 6x03 "Need to Know" and more from TVLine's Matt Webb Mitovich

Here's some scoop on Castle from this week's (Posted on 9/26/13) Matt's Inside Line column.

I’ll take any scoop you have on Castle, particularly how much longer Beckett will be a Fed. She belongs in the NYPD close to Castle! –Kristen
As you may have gleaned if you came across the photos from Episode 3, “Need to Know,” Beckett soon enough has cause to revisit the 12th, when a high-profile case that Ryan and Espoito are working catches the Feds’ attention. In fact, the instant that Castle talks his way into helping out the boys, “Beckett and McCord come in and take over the case,” show boss Andrew W. Marlowe previews. “So now it’s the boys against the girls. And Castle’s caught in the middle.” Bonus scoop: Having been on set for this episode, I can tell you that at one point they needed to do a close-up of Caskett’s hands as one slipped something small and shiny to the other.

Any scoop on Castle‘s Lanie/Esposito? Esplanie shippers are hoping to see more of them soon! –Marine
When I spoke to Marlowe, nothing was firmly on the books yet, though he did tease “some Esposito/Lanie stuff coming up towards the end of the fall that we’re going to be exploring.” Between that, Ryan’s imminent fatherhood and, well, Alexis/Pi, “We’re taking a look at our secondary characters and having fun with them.”

Andrew Marlowe said there were a few milestones between Castle and Beckett that he didn’t get a chance to show in Season 5. Any hints toward those? –Christina
I ran your question by Stana Katic, and this is what she was thinking: “I wonder where they’re going to live this season…” After all, she noted, with Pi now slinging papaya all over the place, more than ever “Castle’s loft is Union Station!”

Well, you're in luck! We caught up with the impeccably dressed Kiernan Shipka on Sunday and she told us that Sally Draper's style is going to be getting even more rebellious this season. "Her style at the beginning, rightfully so, looked like her mother dressed he and that's how it was supposed to be," Shipka says. "But this season it looks like she is dressing herself a little bit more and getting a little bit more sassy. Her skirts have been getting shorter and shorter throughout the season."

Here's some scoop on The Big Bang Theory from Kristin Dos Santos' Spoiler Chat column, which was posted on 9/26/13.

Sanna_o75: Will there be anything about if Penny will perhaps propose to Leonard this season?? #BigBangTheory
Funny you should ask! We recently caught up with the Big Bang creators Chuck Lorre and Steven Molaro on the Emmy's red carpet this past Sunday, and we asked if a Penny/Leonard engagement is in the works. Lorre explains that fans will have to wait a little bit more before Penny puts a ring on it. "That's a big step for the series and that's a big step for the couple. There's a lot of growth that can come about in both characters before we can make that move," he says. However we will get a super sweet reunion when Leonard returns from his expedition in the second episode!

Mellie is no longer America's Sweetheart! Though the First Lady's approval ratings were always high, it seems outing your husband's affair on national TV tends to turn people off. Yes, Mellie's approval rating has plummeted…we are talking double digits, people! Expect to see Mellie get all flustered during a TV interview when she's pressed about the declining rating.

Community: Shirley related scoop on episode 5x05, casting related scoop and scoop on Donald Glover's departure from the show from TVLine's Michael Ausiello

Here's some scoop on Community from this week's (Posted on 9/24/13) Ask Ausiello column.

Question: With Jeff’s daddy issues settled and Pierce gone, where will Community go for biological family dramedy now? —Robert
Ausiello: Back to Shirley’s brood. Two of her sons will return in this season’s fifth episode, only they’ll be older (early teens) and, per casting intel, with “lovely singing voices.” The benched NBC comedy is also on the lookout for an actor to play a student reporter, who is seen grilling a faculty member during a time of crisis. BTW, I think this is Donald Glover’s final episode, so the “crisis” part has me a smidge worried. They wouldn’t kill off Troy, would they?

Question: I have to wait so long until Season 2 of Under the Dome! Can you please give me some hint as to what the future holds for Barbie? —Alicia
Ausiello: A tighter, more compelling narrative? That’s my personal hope, anyway. I’m encouraged by something Dean Norris told us Saturday at BAFTA’s pre-Emmy Team Party. “I’m meeting with producers to start sorting it out, but [Season 2] is going to be good,” he said. “We get to reboot the whole thing… I think there’s going to be some changes. They want to beef it up in a lot of ways.” Bonus Scoop: Norris confirms that “Stephen King is going to write the first episode.”

Question: How will Mad Men‘s split season impact how Matt Weiner’s writes the final 14 episodes? For example, will he view Episode 7 as a season finale, and treat it accordingly, or will it be just a regular episode? —Dave
Ausiello: It’s a great question, and I tried to coax an answer out of the typically tight-lipped auteur at Sunday’s Emmys (shocker: I think I succeeded.) “I’m interested in entertainment and I want the audience to be glued to it and I want them to be addicted and I want them to come back,” he said. “So I will do everything I can in those seven episodes to tell a story where they’ll be like, ‘What is the rest of this?’”

Here's some scoop on Downton Abbey from this week's (Posted on 9/24/13) Ask Ausiello column.

Question: Any chance of a Downton Abbey-Sons of Anarchy crossover? —Gregg
Ausiello: In Ask Ausiello? I suppose I can work both shows into this answer. Odd request, but I’m game. On the SOA front, Theo Rossi hints that the pummeling Juice took from Chibs in the opener will have “tremendous” consequences. “I think the beating snapped him,” Rossi adds of his character. “He snapped… Juice wants to do everything he can to get back that family that he had. Right now his belief is [he can achieve that by becoming] more violent… How this all goes down is amazing and I’m really excited for it.” Moving on to Downton, Jim Carter assured me on the Emmys red carpet Sunday that Season 4 will be far less deadly than Season 3. In fact, “I don’t think there are any deaths this season,” he said. “You can settle back and relax — there are going to be no funerals this year.”

The Mentalist: Scoop on Amanda Righetti and Owain Yeoman's exit from the show and scoop on the reveal of Red John in season 6 from TVLine's Michael Ausiello

Here's some scoop on The Mentalist from this week's (Posted on 9/24/13) Ask Ausiello column.

Question: Do you have any scoop on Bones, Castle, Glee, The Mentalist or Once Upon a Time? –Janika
Ausiello: I see… a Mentalist scoop in your future. Though we know that Amanda Righetti and Owain Yeoman are leaving at some point this season, and though we know Van Pelt and Rigsby are heading for a wedding, it’s still hazy on how/why exactly the characters will be written off of the show. “The hunt for Red John is reaching its climax,” series creator Bruno Heller notes. And with that, “the CBI is thrown into turmoil… so Rigsby and Van Pelt – and Cho – are forced to find new ways to be in the world.”

Question: I’ll love you forever if you give me a spoiler about The Mentalist! –Natasha
Ausiello: Bruno Heller says that after Red John’s capture this season, a big new arc will kick in — though he’s loath to utter a word about it. “As soon as you shoot an arrow in the air it’s going to land somewhere, and I don’t want to shoot that arrow quite yet,” he explains. “I would say that one of the luxuries if we do indeed catch and get rid of Red John… is that it’s a huge weight and burden off the shoulders of Jane and Lisbon and everybody else, so it’s a good life change, it gives them freedom and  a sense of being able to breathe again. So while there will be gripping arcs of the kind that the audience is used to, we’re going to take this opportunity to open it up a bit.

Here's some scoop on Scandal from this week's (Posted on 9/24/13) Ask Ausiello column.

Question: Please tell me anything about Scandal. —Katy
Ausiello: Now that Olivia has been outed as the POTUS’ mistress, “She is no longer the fixer,” explains Bellamy Young. “She is like the client. Mellie is the fixer in her own mind. We’re looking at a reelection campaign, so I’ve got to handle it because we need four more years. And Mellie has a very particular idea about who a scapegoat should be, what a strategy should be, how to push it all under the rug so we can get past it and get reelected. Of course, it will no doubt blow up in her face as Mellie’s plans inevitably do.” Bonus Scoop: This season’s third episode is going to be bananas.”So far, I have loved Episode 3,” raves Young. “Episode 3 was one of our best so far. Question: It’s been said that Grey’s Anatomy‘s Callie won’t be shy in showing how she really feels about Arizona cheating, and that the hospital will feel her wrath. But do you have any info on how Arizona will be handling this situation? –Ashley
Ausiello: Oh, it’s been more than “said” – it’s been shown. And as a matter of fact, TVLine’s Matt Mitovich just got off the horn with Jessica Capshaw, and she attested, “This is no small thing. This is a huge betrayal…. And the next step is you have to understand why it happened” — meaning, there’s something else missing from the Calzona relationship besides someone’s left leg. In the meantime, yes, Callie’s wrath shall be felt. As Capshaw notes with a laugh, “Every time I would walk into a scene, it would be having to play someone who had just done something horrible. So I would come out of work and be like, ‘I really am a good person! I really am!’”

Question: What can you tell me on Meredith Grey? —Sara
Ausiello: She was on The View Monday (in the form of her portrayer, Ellen Pompeo) promoting this week’s Grey’s Anatomy premiere and she basically declared this the Season of Yang. “As sad as it is that [Sandra Oh] is leaving — and I know the fans are really upset — to know Sandra Oh, this is going to her best acting season ever,” Pompeo told the ladies. “She’s going to go out with a bang. That’s a very positive spin on it, but she’s going to want to really, really bring it — as she does every year.”

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Preview—Scoop from Ming-Na Wen-TVLine

Agents of SHIELD Preview

Here's an interview that Ming-Na Wen did with TVLine's Matt Webb Mitovich. In the interview, Wen talks about her character on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Melinda May and why she accepted the role.  Wen also gives some scoop on what will be happening on the show down the road. Here's an excerpt from the article where Wen talks about her character:

TVLINE | What do you love most about Melinda May?
I love everything about her. But the thing I love most is where her heart is. It’s very, very masked and covered up, but she has so much inner strength. Everybody knows that she’s kick-ass and that she has a lot of ninja skills, but for me, playing where she soldiers up and overcomes whatever trauma that she had experienced that pulled her out of the field, and is willing to do her job and protect not just people at large, but her team…. That, to me, is her best quality.

TVLINE | Well, you talk about her trauma, and it’s hinted at in the pilot. How soon are we going to get some insight into what she’s been through?
Gosh, I can’t say, “Hey, in Episode 10….” I will say that it will be a slow reveal, but that’s going to be true for all the characters, which is what I love. It’s back to the kind of television I grew up with, where you don’t know everything all in the first two episodes of a series. For me, this is an amazing novel that unfolds little by little, chapter by chapter, maybe even goes into a second book and a third book, but it’s definitely a story that reveals the characters slowly, so that you really get to know who they are. That’s the luxury of doing a television show with the Marvel title as opposed to a Marvel movie.

TVLINE | Are you privy to information about Melinda? Things that will eventually come out in that slow reveal?
I have some stories that I go on, from what Joss has told me. He’s a good storyteller. You should ask him!

TVLINE | How would you describe Melinda’s dynamic with Coulson? Is she merely his muscle?
In a way. She can be his bulldog, but at the same time, there is true camaraderie. He pulled her out of the field, he’s the one that gives her that second chance. He believes that he was saved from “the great white light” [after the events of The Avengers] and everyone deserves a second chance, so there’s great friendship and history between the characters.

TVLINE | And who would you say she experiences the most friction with?
Right now, she sort of is observing a lot of things, because for her to get back into the field is still a tug of war, as is connecting with everyone. Her most suspicious relationship is with Skye. She’s not quite sure why Coulson recruits her, and I don’t think she trusts Skye. So, in that sense, maybe her biggest friction is with Coulson as well, because there is some tension about that particular choice that he’s made.

My thoughts: I absolutely loved the movie The Avengers, and I've been interested in any movies or TV shows involving super heroes since I was about six years-old and I started watching Power Rangers, so Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is the new show that I've been most excited about this year. I really hope that the show lives up to all the hype surrounding it and that it gets good ratings. Based on all of the promos that I've seen for the show so far, it looks like Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is going to be really good. Since I'm looking forward to the show so much, I'll probably write reviews of the episodes from time to time. The only reasons why I might not review the show are if the series premiere ends up getting really bad ratings and it looks like it will only be a matter of time before it gets canceled, or I simply end up not liking the series premiere very much.

The Mindy Project: Scoop on Jeremy's weight gain from E! Online's Kristin Dos Santos

Here's some scoop on The Mindy Project from Kristin Dos Santos' Spoiler Chat column, which was posted on 9/24/13.

Zoey: The Mindy Project was hilarious. I especially loved Jeremy eating shredded cheese straight from the bag. How long will he be packing the extra pounds?
Longer than Ed Weeks originally thought! "Initially, it was episode five. Now it's episode 11," he tells us. "We'll see. I think we find it funny. I think they think it adds another dimension to Jeremy." So did Weeks get to eat junk food and give up working out for a while for the storyline? Nope! "It's a onseie. It's a padded onesie with some requisite gaps for physical necessities, which is lucky. I've got a padded tush for the first time in my life!"

csi89grl: Even though she's human, I'm hoping Katherine is still her smooth-talking, stiletto-walking bitch self?
"Do you know how hard it is to run in heels?" Though our survivor is now human on The Vampire Diaries, she's still Katherine Pierce. But because of her less-than-stellar people skills, Katherine is going to be forced to rely on a familiar face for protection from some pretty big enemies.

Pretty Little Liars: Ezra related casting scoop on the second half of season 4 from E! Online's Kristin Dos Santos

Beth: Still in denial over Ezra being bad on PLL! What's going to happen next?!
Prepare yourselves, 'cause Rosewood High is currently in the market for a new substitute teacher. Yes, the ABC Family hit is casting a pretty new sub in her 40s, so it looks like Ezra may once again be losing the title of Hottest English Teacher on TV. The ep's title, by the way? "She's Come Undone." Could that be in reference to our dear Aria?!

Reese in Denver: Grey's scoop?
Are you by any chance a fan of werewolves? Then you'll be quite happy with an upcoming episode, where a patient will honestly and whole-heartedly believe that he was attacked by a werewolf. We're talking full-blown crazy, begging Dr. [Spoiler] to call the FBI and move him into a quarantined area. Since the doctor treating him is a big skeptic, the situation goes from annoying to dangerous fairly quickly.

New Girl: Jess and Nick are a couple now! Yay! Schmidt’s playing with fire, and Winston is apparently color blind. Huh. Yeah…I didn’t see that last one coming. (My thoughts on the season 3 premiere, episode 3x01 “All In”)

While I’m beyond excited that the third season of New Girl has finally started, I’m sad to say that I found the season premiere rather disappointing. Honestly, I feel like the best part of the episode was the Jess and Nick storyline, while I found Schmidt rather annoying. When it comes to Winston, I thought that he was really funny and Lamorne Morris did a great job in the episode. Unfortunately, I also found the writing for Winston in this episode rather sloppy and random, but not random in a good way. I’ll get into that some more later.

The episode basically picked up right where the season two finale ended with Jess and Nick driving off together very spontaneously without any kind of plan for where they were headed. They both seemed to be pretty giddy at the beginning of the episode, saying that they wanted to be together and that they were “All In”, hence the title of the episode. Initially, they went back to the loft, but after Schmidt repeatedly texted both Nick and Jess, while Winston said that he wanted to start working on putting a puzzle, they once again ran off together.

Somehow they managed to end up in Mexico, and honestly I’m not sure how they managed to drive there so quickly. I’m also a little confused as to how Jess managed to get past border control without Nick’s passport, and possibly hers, when they went to Mexico given the fact that later in the episode Jess had to rush back to the loft to get Nick’s passport after he ended up in “resort jail”, but I digress. Anyway, Nick took an instant liking to Mexico, calling himself “Paradise Nick”, but he ended up getting arrested after he was caught by some security guards at the resort without a bracelet that people staying at the resort apparently needed to wear. I have to say that I found the whole part with Nick running from the security guards and into the ocean; saying that they couldn’t arrest him, because he was international waters rather funny. That was definitely a classic Nick moment, if you ask me.

Meanwhile, back at the loft Schmidt was dealing with the fact that he had run off in the season two finale when Elizabeth and Cece told him that he had to decide which one of them he wants to be with. Initially Schmidt wanted to turn to Nick for advice about this, but with Jess and Nick off in Mexico, he decided to declare Winston his best friend.  Despite the fact that Schmidt was venting to him about his current predicament, Winston was wrapped up in his own little world and decided that it was the perfect time to start working on putting a puzzle together. Apparently, Winston has a tendency to act really weird and intense when he’s working on puzzle. It was also established that Winston isn’t very good at doing puzzles, the reason for this being that Winston is apparently color blind, which Jess, Nick and Schmidt figured out towards the end of the episode. Yeah…I didn’t see that coming at all.

You don't know Jack...well, new Jack, anyway. Jack is a totally different man this season, and his first scene with Emily since she told him the truth about her identity will make you feel about five different emotions within a two-minute span. It's so good it hurts.
