Tom’s new girlfriend on Desperate Housewives has undergone a last-minute makeover: Friends alum Jessica Hecht is out and Less Than Perfect‘s Andrea Parker is in.
According to an insider, talks between Hecht and Housewives broke down late Friday and the role was given to Parker.
Parker’s character, Jane, enters Tom’s life at a pivotal time: In Housewives Season 7 finale, he and Lynette (Felicity Huffman) announced that they were sticking a fork in their nearly 20-year marriage.
Parker recently shot a recurring role in the forthcoming USA series Common Law.
Housewives eighth (and final) season launches on Sept. 25.
