Gossip Girl: Season 5 Winter Preview With Josh Safran-TVLine

Here's an interview that TVLine's Vlada Gelman did with the executive producer of Gossip Girl, Josh Safran, about the second half of season five. In the interview, Safran talks about the aftermath of Chuck and Blair's car accident in the mid-season finale, the 100th episode, Chuck and Blair's relationship, Dan's feelings for Blair, Serena's love life, and where things are going with the Charlie/Ivy storyline. Safran also addresses the overall tone of season five in the following excerpt from the interview:

TVLINE | The season started off light and fun with the gang in L.A., and it’s gotten darker as it’s gone on. Is that going to continue?
It will definitely lighten up again, but it was a conscious choice to take it darker. Going from the summeryness of L.A. to the winteryness of New York was very much a conscious choice on our part. As we move back towards spring again, the show will get lighter as well. That is not to say though that there won’t be some shocking darkness around the corner.
