True Blood: Pam, Gov. Burrell and Eric related scoop from Entertainment Weekly's Sandra Gonzalez

Here's some scoop on True Blood from Entertainment Weekly's Sandra Gonzalez's The Spoiler Room column, which was posted on 6/21/13.

‘TRUE BLOOD: ‘PAM’S LOSING EVERYTHING SHE VALUES

True Blood premiered its sixth season last weekend on HBO, and while the reaction was somewhat mixed, I was glad to see one consistent feeling across the board: Gov. Burrell is one big slimy toad.
As you know, Burrell is the one leading this anti-vampire campaign, but quite soon, even more about his charge against the vamps will come to light — and some of it is a little disturbing. (One word: Experiments) ”That is quite something,” Kristin Bauer van Straten says of the upcoming revelations about just how far Burrell’s gone to start developing defenses against the vamps. “It’s just all part of the theme that the tables have turned and the vampires are being hunted….[The humans] are figuring out how to fight back.”

So far, this fight has cost Pam in a major way — in last week’s episode, the government said it is shuttering Fangtasia. And there’s more shake-up to come. “Pam’s world in the past has only been shaken by what her world mainly consisted of, which is Eric. This year, that also is part of the problem still; they haven’t completely reconciled,” she says. “But she’s no longer the top of the food chain. She’s always learned how to break the law and not get caught … but she is now being hunted. She actually has moved from complete freedom to less and less and that’s exceedingly hard for her.”

She adds: “She doesn’t like change — she has Eric, she has Fangtasia… that’s her whole world. So one by one, she’s losing everything she values.”
