Caroline does get pretty jealous of Stefan and Elena's newfound closeness. But when my colleague Robyn Ross asked executive producer Julie Plec about the prospect, she said, "Caroline and Stefan are really beautiful friends and we'll continue to shine that beautiful friendship. We'll see if it evolves into anything more or if each of them go in their own direction."
