I have the skinny on Eliza Coupe’s new character, FBI Agent Hannah Wyland, who shows a new side to the FBI than what we’ve seen with Miranda and Liam. “She represents the type of agent the NATS will be in five years, versus the type they’ll be in 10 to 15, like Liam and Miranda,” says EP Josh Safran. “When we meet her in the midseason finale, she’s representative of the idea that you don’t actually have to lose your life to be an FBI agent. She’s vibrant, funny, goofy and fast. Hannah doesn’t stop who she is to fit into a suit, badge and gun. It’s a great dichotomy between the seriousness of Liam and Miranda and the hopefulness of the NATs. Those two things have always been clashing, and now we have Hannah in the middle as the bridge between the two. She’s got some connections to our characters. She’s not just from the outside world.”
