D.B. Woodside — who is arguably best known as Sunnydale High’s badass principal on Buffy the Vampire Slayer – has booked a five-episode arc on NBC’s Parenthood this fall as a love interest for Jasmine.
TVLine has confirmed that the actor — most recently seen on The CW’s Hellcats and also familiar from a 24 presidential run– will play Joseph Prestidge, an Ivy League-educated doctor who takes a vested interest in Joy Bryant’s dancing beauty.
This casting news — first reported by The Hollywood Reporter — of course hints that Jasmine and Crosby’s happyish ending in the Season 2 finale didn’t necessarily lead to a rock-solid reunion. But given the limited scope of Woodside’s guest arc — which begins with this cycle’s third episode — we’re guessing it’s nothing more than a fling.
