Body of Proof Casts Deirdre Lovejoy (Bones, The Wire) as Bud's Wife-TVLine

So this is funny: Body of Proof this season will reveal that Detective Bud Morris “ball and chain” actually used to wear a ball and chain.

TVLine has learned exclusively that ABC’s sophomore procedural has cast Deirdre Lovejoy — aka Bones serial killer Heather Taffet (aka The Gravedigger), and The Wire‘s ASA Rhonda Pearlman — in the potentially recurring role of Jeannie Morris, Bud’s “exhausted and a bit grouchy wife.”

At a cocktail party celebrating Body of Proof‘s Season 2 launch, John Carroll Lynch shared with me that viewers would be meeting Bud’s Mrs. and in turn “know a bit more about his home life” — as we will with other characters on the show, as it fleshes out its canvas.

Body of Proof airs Tuesdays at 10/9c, where this week it premiered in the No. 2 spot in viewers and the 18-49 demo, as well as delivered its best-ever young adult lead-in retention (82 percent) of the Dancing With the Stars audience.
