an infamous fairy-tale staple on ABC’s
Once Upon a Time (premiering Sunday, Oct. 23 at 8/7c)
TVLine has learned that the actress will play a role
we first told you about, the “incredibly scary and frightening” Blind Witch from
Hansel and Gretel, who appears in the ninth episode of the fantastical drama’s debut season. Caulfield excitedly revealed the news
via Twitter on Monday.
The casting marks both
Buffy and
Life Unexpected reunions for the actress, who worked with
Once consulting producer Liz Tigelaar on the latter and co-exec producer Jane Espenson on the former, making this news all the more sweet.
Caulfield joins
Once‘s already packed Season 1 guest cast that includes Kristin Bauer Van Straten (
True Blood) as Maleficent, Alan Dale (

Prince Charming’s father, Jessy Schram
(Falling Skies) as the
beloved Cinderella, Giancarlo Esposito (
