What to Expect | The series wraps its eight-year run with the return of Dana Delany’s uptight-WASP-turned-lesbian housewife, Katherine Mayfair. And it wouldn’t be a finale if things didn't come full circle with the woman that started it all. “I would say that the odds of seeing [Mary Alice] on screen... are very high,” reveals creator Marc Cherry. “[Her] commentary started the show, and her commentary will end it.” As for the fates of Wisteria Lane’s living ladies, “I don't know about happy endings versus tragic endings,” says the EP, “but I want to make sure that we end the show in a very satisfying way for the fans, so the endings for the characters are going to make sense.”
