Though even TVLine acknowledged that the Whitney Cummings-fronted comedy got off to a rocky start, it eventually gelled into an appealingly quirky neo Friends. (At least Acquaintances.)

My thoughts: I know that there are a lot of Whitney haters out there, and I'll admit that I initially wasn't even planning on watching the show until my aunt told me that she and my uncle like it. Once I watched the series premiere with her, I found myself really enjoying it. Personally, I never thought that the show was even remotely close to being as bad as the critics were making it out to be. Whitney definitely isn't the best TV show ever, but it has definitely improved greatly since the show first started. I think it's a fun show to watch at the end of a long day, so I'm thrilled that it has been renewed for a second season.
