According to TVLine's Vlada Gelman, Golden Brooks has been cast in a recurring guest-star role for season 2 of Hart of Dixie. Here's an excerpt from the article which gives some details on Brooks' role:
Brooks’ Ruby makes quick friends with the resident doctor upon her return to Bluebell. (What about AnnaBeth?!) She is described as a successful woman with acerbic wit, making her something of kindred spirit to Dr. Hart. Her relationships with Lavon and Lemon, however, will be less harmonious as there’s some unresolved issues there. As we previously reported, Ruby was the mayor’s high school sweetheart, putting her at odds with the southern belle.
Hart of Dixie returns Oct. 2 at 8/7c.

My thoughts: I'm not familiar with Golden Brooks as an actress, but based on the description of Brooks' role, her character sounds very interesting. Hart of Dixie is a great show, and I really wish that more people were watching it. If you're not already watching this show, then I strongly suggest that you start watching it. I personally think it's one of the best shows that's currently airing on The CW network.
