According to TVLine's Megan Masters, the title of American Horror Story will be changing to American Horror Story: Asylum for season 2. Here's excerpt from the article, which gives an explanation for the show's title change:
Series co-creator and executive producer Ryan Murphy explained the change in a statement Wednesday. “We picked Asylum because it not only describes the setting – an insane asylum run by Jessica Lange’s character which was formerly a tuberculosis ward – but also signifies a place of haven for the unloved and the unwanted,” he said. “This year’s theme is about sanity and tackling real life horrors.”
Season 2 of Horror Story — which stars returning players Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Lily Rabe and Zachary Quinto as well as fresh faces James Cromwell, Joseph Fiennes, Franka Potente, Jenna Dewan and Clea Duvall — is slated to launch in October.

My thoughts: I know that I've already said this before, but I'm really looking forward to season 2 of American Horror Story for a lot of reasons. First off, the premise of the second season sounds very interesting. Plus, the cast for the second season includes a lot of actors that I'm a big fan of. Given the fact that the second season is going to have a completely different premise than the premise for the first season, I think it's very fitting that they have changed the name of the show, even if they've only changed the name of the show just a little bit.
