According to TVLine's Matt Webb Mitovich, season 3 of TNT's Dallas will premiere on February 23, 2014. Season 3 will also be split into two separate halves. Season 3 will also feature what Executive Producer Michael Robins calls “the biggest Southfork wedding yet!”. Here's an excerpt from the article, which gives some details on the scheduling for Dallas' split third season:
As first unofficially announced by cast member Josh Henderson back in July, Dallas‘ coming run will be split into two halves — an opening run of eight episodes, and then seven more come summer — with each batch serving up its own cliffhanger, showrunner Cynthia Cidre told TVGM.
Cast additions for Season 3 include 90210‘s AnnaLynne McCord (playing a tomboy-ish ranch hand love interest for Jesse Metcalfe’s Christopher) and Camp alum Juan Pablo Di Pace (in the series regular role of self-made billionaire businessman Nicolas Trevino.

My thoughts: While I'm very excited for season 3 of Dallas to start, I have to admit that I'm not very happy about the fact that TNT is splitting season 3 into two separate halves. It always bugs me when cable networks air seasons of a show in two separate halves considering the fact that seasons for most shows on cable TV networks typically only consist of 13 to 16 episodes. I might not mind cable networks doing that if the seasons had 22 to 24 episodes each season, but I just think it's stupid when cable networks air seasons of TV shows in two separate halves when their seasons are usually shorter than that. Personally, I think that cable networks should air the entire season of a TV show all at once with the exception of maybe one or two short breaks between episodes like broadcast TV networks do. That being said, I'm really excited for season 3, and I'm really anxious to see who's getting married on the show next season.
