Sons of Anarchy: Scoop on Jax and Colette's fling from TVLine's Michael Ausiello

Here's some scoop on Sons of Anarchy from this week's (Posted on 11/5/13) Ask Ausiello column.

Question: I’m seriously getting sick of all hate being directed towards Sons of Anarchy‘s Tara. Jax is hardly a saint here. Heck, he recently cheated on her with a prostitute. Please tell me his not-so-little indiscretion will be addressed before the end of the season. —Ann
Ausiello: “All that stuff comes into play,” confirms series creator Kurt Sutter. “At the end of the day it’s adultery, and is adultery OK? No. Would this [information] land well with Tara? Obviously not.” Jax’s fling with Colette crystallized the “double standard” that exists in the world of SAMCRO, one that says “It’s OK for men to do this,” notes Sutter, adding that this was not just a random hook-up. “She’s an older woman who has this maternal quality; there was an emotional connection that he had for her — probably more than a sexual one. Not that that makes it OK, but his needs are not just carnal at this point. There’s something missing from [Jax and Tara's] relationship, and that began to play out.”
