According to E! Online's Leanne Aguilera, Romy Rosemont (Finn's mom on Glee) has been cast in a recurring guest-star role in the second half of The Foster's first season. Here's an excerpt from the article, which gives some details on Rosemont's role:
The actress will join The Fosters this winter as Amanda, the quirky and sometimes challenging mother of Mariana's (Cierra Ramirez) new friend (and potential love interest!) Zac (Julian De La Celle). Rosemont will be a recurring guest star season making her debut in on Monday, March 3.
The heartwarming series, which is executive produced by Jennifer Lopez, returns Monday, Jan. 13 and you can bet that this season is going to be even inspiring than the last.
When we last saw Callie (Maia Mitchell), she left the wedding of the season after a short but sweet smooch with her foster brother, Brandon (David Lambert). Yikes! To make matters even more complicated, our tough-as-nails orphan has decided to run away from her problems—yet again.
With Callie absent, the members of the Fosters are now left with number of questions: Will Jude (Hayden Byerly) be able to accept the love of this family without his sister in the picture? And how will Brandon deal with the news that Callie has run away? All those questions and many more will be answered in the upcoming season.

My thoughts: While I always really liked Romy Rosemont on Glee back when I still watched the show, I definitely have mixed feelings about this news given the fact that her character will be a part of Mariana's storyline. In my opinion, Mariana is the most annoying character on the show so I've had very little interest in any storyline she is involved in. I'll try to keep an open mind about Mariana as a character going into the second half of season one though. Hopefully, the writers will be able to make Mariana a more likable character. That being said, I'm really excited for the rest of The Fosters' first season. It's such a good show, and if you're not already watching it, then I strongly recommend that you check it out.
