I watched the first episode of Power Rangers Super Megaforce on
Nickelodeon’s website earlier tonight, and I have to say that I
absolutely loved it. It was beyond cool seeing the Power Rangers access
the powers of the previous teams. I loved the bit where Jake asked Gosei
why he was becoming the green ranger and Gosei told him that there was a
simple explanation for it, only to be interrupted by another attack
from the villains before he had the chance to explain it to him. I would
love it if it became a running gag throughout the season to have Gosei
always be interrupted whenever Jake asks him why he was made the green
ranger of the team.
I also love what they showed of the new villains. I think it’s pretty cool that the villains can make more than one monster grow at a time. The only thing that bugged me about the episode was how chatty the Power Rangers were about their new powers during the fight scenes. That got pretty annoying after a while.
All in all, it was a great start to the new season, and the episode definitely exceeded my expectations for the first episode. My final score for the first episode of Power Rangers Super Megaforce is 9 out of 10.
