According to Entertainment Weekly's Sandra Gonzalez, Fox has renewed both The Mindy Project and The Following for a third season. Additionally, Fox has also renewed New Girl for a fourth season and Brooklyn Nine-Nine for a second season. Here's an excerpt from the original article, which features a statement from Fox network executives Kevin Reilly and Joe Earley regarding this news:
“These shows are some of the best and acclaimed series on television, with influential, culture-driving stars, and some of the best, most creative talent behind the camera,” said bosses Kevin Reilly and Joe Earley in a joint statement. “All four are core assets within our 2014-15 portfolio of content, and we’re really happy to bring them back to our FOX fans for another season.”

My thoughts: Out of these four renewals, the only one that I find truly surprising would be The Mindy Project give the show's low ratings. Being a huge fan of The Mindy Project myself, I'm beyond thrilled that Fox has renewed it. If you ask me, The Mindy Project is one of the funniest shows on TV right now, and I feel like it really deserves to have much higher ratings than it has this season.
I'd be lying if I said that I'm not mildly surprised by the fact that The Following has also been renewed. I say this only because the show's ratings have really been on the decline this season. However, I'm also a fan of The Following, so I'm glad that it has also been renewed. While I do like New Girl, I have to admit that I've lost a lot of interest in the show this season, so I my feelings regarding its renewal are definitely somewhat indifferent. As for Brooklyn Nine-Nine being renewed, I've never watched the show, but I'm happy for the people who are fans of the show that it has also been renewed.
