Here's some scoop on Sleepy Hollow from this week's (Posted on 10/14/14) Ask Ausiello column.

Question: What do you know about Henry’s plan on Sleepy Hollow? Why does he have that miniaturized version of the town? —Raj
Ausiello: “Every man has a hobby,” executive producer Len Wiseman jokes. “He’s orchestrating a bigger plot and bigger plan. Really, the [3-D] map of Sleepy Hollow is not that different from an operations board. It’s his creepy operations board with his plan.” Though Wiseman and showrunner Mark Goffman won’t spill much about what the Horseman of War has up his sleeve, Goffman does say that there’s a “really tense” scene in the midseason finale, and Henry is in it.

Question: When are we going to see Abbie and Jenny’s mom on Sleepy Hollow? —Courtney
Ausiello: Mid-November. Aunjanue Ellis will debut as Lori Mills in Episode 9, titled “Mama.” Fun fact, courtesy of Goffman: We were originally going to meet Lori in Purgatory in the premiere, but because the Season 2 opener was “a bit of an overstuffed sandwich,” that scene will now air as a dream sequence in Episode 9.

Sleepy Hollow: Aunjanue Ellis Cast as Abbie and Jenny’s Mother in Season 2

According to TVLine's Michael Ausiello, Aunjanue Ellis has been cast as Abbie and Jenny's mother for Sleepy Hollow's upcoming second season. Here's an excerpt from the original article, which gives some details on Ellis' role:

Series star Nicole Beharie recently teased that growing up, her character’s mother Lori Mills wasn’t exactly the happy homemaker type. “We discover early on in [Season 2] that Abbie and Jenny’s mom had supernatural inclinations, and a lot of people read that as [her] being insane or a liar,” Beharie previewed. “So we find out more about why Abbie’s a witness and and the torture Jenny has gone through.”

My thoughts: I've never even heard of Aunjanue Ellis before, so I can't comment on her acting. That being said, I'm not sure what to think about Aunjanue Ellis being cast as Abbie and Jenny's mother. Based on Ellis' age in real life, I'm guessing that she'll be appearing as their mother in flashbacks and not the present. Personally, I think Ellis is too young to be playing Abbie and Jenny's mother if their mother is still alive, so having her appear in flashbacks is the only way Ellis being cast as their mother makes sense to me. With that said, I can't wait to see the show explore Abbie and Jenny's past some more in season 2, and the season 2 premiere can't come fast enough for my taste.
