What I do know, however, is that the Lifetime dramedy is gearing up for a hell of a finale. “The cliffhanger this year is … completely unexpected,” Rebecca Wisocky (aka Evelyn Powell) says. And, yes, I added in those eclipses to emphasize Wisocky’s dramatic pause. If you’d rather I quote another rich egomaniac, the finale’s going to be “huuuuge.”

The Lifetime drama’s fourth season is introducing a new character named Lori who meets an “attractive Beverly Hills woman” at her therapist’s office; after bonding over champagne and past breakups, the two end up going on a date. Any guess who Lori’s new lady friend will turn out to be? Our money’s on Susan Lucci’s Genevieve because A) no one has experienced more breakups than her, and B) no one needs more therapy than her. Besides, straight or not, you know Genevieve can’t resist attention.

Ausiello: I can’t promise that any other Cristela alumni will pop up in Beverly Hills, Carla, but I can share some intel about two new characters appearing in Season 4: First up in Genevieve’s hairdresser Fabian, a self-proclaimed “hair magician” who gives his best client a strange book he swears will change her life. (Do I smell a cult?) Also recurring in Season 4 is Josefina, the mother of newcomer Daniela. She arrives on the scene with the intention of bringing her star-crazed daughter back to Puerto Rico to become an accountant.

But economic disparity isn’t the only obstacle for this potential new couple; the maid in question will also have to endear herself to Kyle’s mom Frances, a strong-willed woman who might be a little too attached to her son. Casting is currently underway for a twenty-something aspiring singer named Dani — who also happens to be a current character’s estranged cousin — and Evan, a dangerous-yet-handsome thirty-something who specializes in manipulating people. (But that’s all part of the job when you’re the manager of a famous movie star.)

I want to know, though, if Opal was somehow involved in Death No. 2, or if this one’s all on her rich boss. –Liesel
Ausiello: File under “there’s a first time for everything”: Opal bears no guilt in whatever nasty secret Nicholas is hiding — although the latter character’s portrayer, Mark Deklin, reveals that wasn’t initially the writers’ vision. “For quite a long time while we were shooting, the idea was that [Opal] was a part of [the second murder],” Deklin tells TVLine. “But at some point, that changed… Opal wasn’t directly involved. It’s something Nick and Dahlia did — but, of course, you can’t keep anything from your maid.”

Ausiello: With the “Who killed Flora?” mystery all wrapped up and Marisol’s true identity as a college professor revealed, Lifetime’s guilty-pleasure sudser is restocking its pantry, so to speak, by casting three new domestic workers and one wealthy head of a Beverly Hills household — all of them series regulars, and all but one of ‘em sexy males. Nicholas is described as “a handsome, charming Latino” businessman/philanthropist in his 40s and (brace for a possible hint at Season 2′s central mystery in 5, 4, 3, 2…) a man whose first wife “died under mysterious circumstances.” Opal, his Caucasian, 40something maid, has been in his employ since his previous marriage, and she’s a secretive, conniving woman “reminiscent of Mrs. Danvers from Hitchcock’s Rebecca.” Wait, did Mrs. Danvers have a hot, naughty, dark-haired son who just turned 18 and works as a pool boy? Because Opal does, his name is Ethan, and he’s the third of the Season 2 cast additions. Finally, there’s Tony, a dark, swarthy, European hunk in his mid-30s with a Special Forces past and the athletic physique that goes with it. The macho man will find work as a bodyguard/chauffeur.

Devious Maids: Scoop on the season 1 finale from E! Online's Kristin Dos Santos

Here's some scoop on Devious Maids from Kristin Dos Santos' Spoiler Chat column, which was posted on 8/7/13.

Lorena: I'm all about Devious Maids, so any spoilers would be mucho appreciated.
Don't think for a second that Devious Maids will pull a Killing season one and not wrap up big storylines in the finale. Roslyn Sanchez and Ana Ortiz tell us that we will find out who killed Flora, and everything will be resolved by the end of the season. The reveal of Flora's murder will be the big arc in the finale, and then, hopefully, plotlines will be set up for a second season. ABC has yet to renew it, but the buzz is strong enough that a season two might be in the cards.

Lifetime Rescues Marc Cherry's Devious Maids-TVLine

According to TVLine's Michael Ausiello, the Lifetime channel has officially picked up Marc Cherry's  new TV series Devious Maids, which ABC decided not to pick up to go to series last month, for a 13-episode first season. Here's an excerpt from the article, which gives a statement from the president, Nancy Dubuc, and EVP of the Lifetime channel, Rob Sharenow, regarding the network's decision to pick up the show, and some details on the show for anyone might not know very much about it or they simply need a refresher on the show:



“This show and Marc Cherry’s unique story telling voice perfectly articulate Lifetime’s strategy of attracting top-tier creatives with their most original and exciting projects,” Lifetime prez Nancy Dubuc and EVP Rob Sharenow said in a joint statement.

Loosely based on the Mexican telenovela The Disorderly Maids Of The Neighborhood, Cherry’s Maids follows four ambitious housekeepers (played by Ugly Betty‘s Ana Ortiz, Scrubs‘ Judy Reyes, Heroes‘ Dania Ramirez and Without a Trace‘s Roselyn Sanchez) who work for the rich and famous in Beverly Hills.

Soap icon Susan Lucci was on board to play one maid’s employer, while onetime Melrose Place resident Grant Show and True Blood alum Mariana Klaveno would lord over another, as a successful soap opera hunk and his self-centered actress-wife.

Maids is set to make its Lifetime debut in 2013.

My thoughts: Personally, I think the premise of the show sounds kind of stupid, but since the show was created by Marc Cherry an Susan Lucci and Grant Show are two of the stars of the show, I'm going to at least check it out.
