Hannibal: Bedelia related scoop from TVLine's Michael Ausiello

http://images.enstarz.com/data/images/full/32613/hannibal.png?w=580

Here's some scoop on Hannibal from this week's (Posted on 6/24/15) Ask Ausiello column.

Question: I know you said in last week’s AA that we’ll see Hannibal‘s Bedelia interacting with Will in the latter half of Season 3 — but is there a chance her scenes will be part of some back-from-the-dead, fever-dream hallucination? The way she keeps taunting Dr. Lecter makes me nervous. —Billy
Ausiello: We asked Gillian Anderson if she knew what was in store for her when her enigmatic therapist got on a plane with the titular psychopath at the end of Season 2, and here’s what she had to say: “[Series creator] Bryan Fuller likes Bedelia on the show, so I knew that she wouldn’t be stepping into immediate certain death [in Season 3] — that there would be a little drama that would take place prior to her demise.” Perhaps the lack of a qualifier (i.e. “possible” or “potential”) before the word “demise” was just a slip of the tongue, but (gulp) here’s hoping said tongue doesn’t wind up as the key protein for a dish from Hannibal’s European Adventures in the Culinary Arts.

Hannibal: Will and Bedelia related scoop from TVLine's Michael Ausiello

http://screenrant.com/wp-content/uploads/Hannibal-Season-3-poster-excerpt.jpg

Here's some scoop on Hannibal from this week's (Posted on 6/16/15) Ask Ausiello column.

Question: The Fannibals are hungrier and hungrier. Throw us a Hannibal bone? –Ro
Ausiello: I see what you did there, Ro, and since you’ve clearly got some skin in this game, here’s a little morsel for you. You know how Bedelia Du Maurier has seemed rather isolated from everyone except Mads Mikkelsen’s titular cannibal during her European tour? Well, as Hugh Dancy spilled to my colleague Michael Slezak during a recent public Q&A at the Apple Store in Soho, his profiler Will Graham will be crossing paths with Gillian Anderson’s enigmatic therapist — not just in Italy, but also after the show’s midseason time jump that will usher in a dramatic transformation of Will’s personal life.

Hannibal: Guest-star related scoop from Entertainment Weekly's Natalie Abrams

http://cdn.wegotthiscovered.com/wp-content/uploads/Hannibal5-640x360.jpg

Here's some scoop on Hannibal from Entertainment Weekly's Natalie Abrams' The Spoiler Room column, which was posted on 6/5/15.

Zachary Quinto? Rutina Wesley? Richard Armitage? Everyone is on Hannibal this season! When do we get to meet some of the new characters? — Lori
It’s guest stars galore in Hannibal season 3—but Wesley and Armitage won’t appear until the second half of this season, when the show shifts into a new plot drawn from Richard Harris’ novel Red Dragon. But early in season 3, you’ll meet another series newcomer: Tao Okamoto (The Wolverine) plays a mysterious woman who’s a potential ally for Will. Or for Hannibal. Or both. Or neither?

Hannibal: Scoop on season 3 from Entertainment Weekly's Natalie Abrams

https://media.giphy.com/media/xTiTnEUrzJ4RNp8opy/giphy.gif

Here's some scoop on Hannibal from Entertainment Weekly's Natalie Abrams' The Spoiler Room column, which was posted on 5/29/15.

I know that the second half of the new season of Hannibal will draw from the first Lecter book Red Dragon, but does the first half have any basis in the Thomas Harris novels? — Judy
Yes: Novels, plural. We find Hannibal on the run in Italy, in a scenario that resembles certain elements of Harris’ book Hannibal, complete with an Italian investigator named Pazzi (played in the 2001 film by Giancarlo Giannini) chasing the serial killer. But an episode early in the season also draws story elements from Harris’ origin story Hannibal Rising. So season 3 is kind of a remix of every Hannibal book besides Silence of the Lambs—a nice workaround, given that the show still doesn’t have the rights to the Clarice Starling character.

Hannibal: Scoop on the season 3 premiere (Episode 3x01 "Antipasto") from TVLine's Matt Webb Mitovich

http://wac.450f.edgecastcdn.net/80450F/screencrush.com/442/files/2015/04/han3.jpg

Here's some scoop on Hannibal from this week's (Posted on 5/26/15) Matt's Inside Line column.

Please, please, please! Something on Hannibal? – Valeria
If you thought the highly ambitious drama might start phoning it in with Season 3, be gone with that silly thought right now. Seriously. Rather, the NBC series is as visually rich and aurally sumptuous as ever, and the June 4 premiere’s opening narrative is the show’s most intricate one yet, bopping around between multiple timelines. The opener introduces one of Hannibal’s most disturbing dinner guests yet, during which you’ll learn a ProTip or two (including: acorns!) about next-level cannibalism.

Hannibal: Scoop on the first three episodes of season 3 from Entertainment Weekly's Natalie Abrams

http://cdn.screenrant.com/wp-content/uploads/Bryan-Fuller-Has-Confidence-in-Season-3-Renewal.jpg

Here's some scoop on Hannibal from Entertainment Weekly's Natalie Abrams' The Spoiler Room column, which was posted on 5/15/15.

It’s been a year since the Hannibal season 2 finale left pretty much everybody besides Hannibal bleeding to death. I’m begging you: WHO DIED? — Riley
You’ll find out…but not immediately. Hannibal season 3 very gradually reintroduces the cast over the first three episodes. The season premiere focuses mainly on Hannibal and Bedelia, and episode two picks up with Will on the hunt for his old frenemy. There are appearances by Abigail Hobbs and Jack Crawford—but there are also copious flashbacks and Hannibal’s trademark surreal dream sequences, so they might just be “appearing.”

Hannibal: Guest-star related scoop on season 3 from TVLine's Michael Ausiello

Glenn Fleshler - 'A Most Violent Year' Premieres in NYC

Here's some scoop on Hannibal from this week's (Posted on 1/27/15) Ask Ausiello column.

Question: Dude, we’re dying. Can we please get…anything on Hannibal? —Ro
Ausiello: True Detective‘s Glenn Fleshler — he was lawn-mowing murderer Errol — is joining the NBC thriller as… another scary dude. I’ve learned exclusively that the actor has been cast as Cordell, the personal doctor of the disfigured Mason Verger (now played by The Divide‘s Joe Anderson). The character is described as “quiet, very intelligent and definitely creepy,” yet “attentive and gentle with Mason. He’s a professional who cares about his work, but we get a sense he might be as sadistic as his boss — and a perfect fit to become his potential henchman.”

Here's some scoop on Hannibal from Kristin Dos Santos' Spoiler Chat column, which was posted on 1/13/15.

daddymads: What are you most excited for fannibals to see in Hannibal s3?
The lovely Gillian Anderson, whose Netflix series The Fall returns on Friday, Jan. 16, was tight-lipped about what's to come, but did give us a few savory nuggets to digest. "I guess just to say that the—I guess I can call it a relationship—whatever relationship Bedelia and Hannibal have, it is fascinating, strange and we also have a lot of fun playing with that," Anderson tells us. When we last saw the two, they were on a plane together. "We're somewhere in Europe," Anderson teases. "To what capacity and why, and how much does she know, and is she complicit and all that kind of stuff and what kind of relationship is it, is she in danger…yeah, lots of questions."

Hannibal: Mason Verger related scoop and casting related scoop on season 3 from TVLine's Michael Ausiello

Here's some scoop on Hannibal from this week's (Posted on 10/7/14) Ask Ausiello column.

Question: Can you pleeease give me any info on Season 3 of Hannibal?—Michele
Ausiello: You didn’t say “pretty please” or add sugar on top, but I’ll nevertheless indulge your request by letting you know that we probably haven’t seen the last of the grossly disfigured Mason Verger. Producers are currently casting the recurring role of Cordell, the “quiet, very intelligent and definitely creepy” personal doctor to Michael Pitt’s sociopathic meat-packing magnate. The late-thirtysomething character is described as “attentive and gentle with Mason, a professional who cares about his work, but we get a sense he might be as sadistic as his boss — and a perfect fit to become his potential henchman.” (He’ll probably need to be comfortable working with horrifying, carnivorous pigs, too.)

The Fall: Scoop on Gillian Anderson's future on the show from TVLine's Matt Webb Mitovich

Here's some scoop on The Fall from this week's (Posted on 9/15/14) Matt's Inside Line column.

Does Gillian Anderson being a series regular on Hannibal have any impact for her filming The Fall? –TorontoGirl
I asked around and confirmed that the show’s different production schedules mean that Anderson’s presence on The Fall (which Stateside has moved to Netflix) will not be affected.

Hannibal: Scoop on the season 3 premiere from TVGuide's Adam Bryant

http://cdn-static.denofgeek.com/sites/denofgeek/files/styles/insert_main_wide_image/public/hannibal_season_2_poster_1_0.jpg?itok=FcStDRYI

Here's some scoop on Hannibal from TVGuide's Adam Bryant's Mega Buzz column, which was posted on 9/2/14.

I'm dying for some information on the new season of Hannibal. Got anything? — Brett
As creator Bryan Fuller already said, the Season 3 opener, which picks up nearly a year after the events of the Season 2 finale, will be all about Hannibal and Bedelia's fabulous new life in Europe — except it may not be so fabulous. Although the duo poses as husband and wife while Hannibal stalks a new victim, it won't be long before one of the locals discovers the murderous truth about Dr. Lecter. Even worse, I hear Bedelia could be the reason the cat gets out of the bag! How many betrayals must Hannibal suffer?!

Hannibal: Scoop on Gillian Anderson's future on the show in season 3 from TVLine's Michael Ausiello

Here's some scoop on Hannibal from this week's (Posted on 7/1/14) Ask Ausiello column.

Question: Any update on whether or not Gillian Anderson will be a series regular on Season 3 of Hannibal? —Gwen
Ausiello: Executive producer Bryan Fuller previously told us he’d “love, love, love” for that to happen — and it turns out he’s not alone. “Oh God. Absolutely!” series star Hugh Dancy responded when asked if he’d welcome more interaction between his addled FBI profiler Will Graham and Anderson’s mysterious psychiatrist Bedelia Du Maurier. “First of all, ‘What are you doing on that plane, Bedelia? Great choice!’” the actor says with a chuckle about Season 2′s closing scene — in which Anderson’s character fled the country (first-class style) with Mads Mikkelsen’s titular cannibal. “As far as anybody could tell, [Bedelia] had vanished off the face of the planet. So, it would be interesting to understand” how she came to be Hannibal’s traveling companion and “what their history is.” As Dancy notes, “Hannibal has this M.O. of taking people and guiding them toward their worse, or as he might see it, better selves. And by and large, they go off and do terrible things and they die. But both with Will and now, Bedelia, [Hannibal] has done that, but also taken much more interest in them.” Dancy adds he’d like to see — given their parallel relationships with Dr. Lecter — whether or not Will can use Bedelia for leverage. In other words, cross your fingers and toes that Anderson’s name appears in the opening credits come fall.

Hannibal: Scoop on season 3 from TVLine's Michael Ausiello

Here's some scoop on Hannibal from this week's (Posted on 6/24/14) Ask Ausiello column.

Question: Is the bloodbath that was Hannibal‘s recent finale going to turn the NBC drama into an entirely different animal in Season 3? —Lenny
Ausiello: A different animal like the endangered Ortolan Buntings that Dr. Lecter drown in Armagnac and ate whole with Will? (Sorry, I just couldn’t resist revisiting that disturbing image.) In all seriousness, though, expect the show to journey to Europe next year, according to series star Hugh Dancy. “It’s definitely in the cards,” he teases. “I mean, obviously Hannibal’s taken off, and Will is going to be in some way on his trail. So, I do think we’ll be on the road a bit.” Dancy also points out that because the show uses Thomas Harris’ books as its template, “It’s hardly a spoiler to say that Hannibal ends up incarcerated. It’s just a question of how we get there.”
