When will we see Laura Benanti pop up again on Supergirl, either as Astra or Alura? –Vanessa
Benanti will next appear in the Dec. 7 episode “Human or a Day,” which features an earthquake as well as the alien escapee Jemm (played by Constantine‘s Charles Halford).

Ausiello: Nashville‘s Laura Benanti, who plays Kara’s Krypton mom Alura Zor-El, acknowledges that she can’t spill the superbeans, but offers this tantalizing bit: “You’ll see me in flashbacks, you’ll see me in hologram and then you’ll see me in one other capacity, which I can’t tell you [about] — but it is the thing that makes me the most excited and is why I wanted to do the show.” BONUS SPOILER: Benanti add that Kara’s Supergirl outfit is based on the long, blue gown Alura wears in the trailer. “I have the same belt that she has and the S — which is our family crest, it actually doesn’t stand for ‘super’ — in the top,” she says, laughing. “It’s very ‘hot Yoda.'”
Question: Will we see Laura Benanti again on Nashville? Sadie’s departure seemed awfully abrupt. I love the character and the chemistry she was developing with Luke. —Erin
Ausiello: It’s highly unlikely you will see her again this season (Benanti’s a little busy headlining the tourist-trap musical New York Spring Spectacular), but, if Nashville is renewed, there’s a decent chance you will see a fair amount of Sadie next season.
What will Laura Benanti’s Supergirl role mean for her Nashville character if it gets picked up for Season 4? –Meaghan
If Supergirl gets super-officially greenlit and if Nashville is renewed, I see no conflict. Benanti (thus far) isn’t a series regular on Nashville, and even if she were to get promoted, typically you’re allowed to sneak away for three appearances on another show – and I can’t imagine Kara chatting up her dead Krypton mom’s avatar in every episode.
