Here's some scoop on Madam Secretary from this week's (Posted on 1/12/18) Ask Ausiello column.

Question: Wait, is that really the end for Alexander/Dimitri? I was really enjoying his and Stevie’s relationship on Madam Secretary. —Ali
Ausiello: Executive producer Barbara Hall tells us it’s not likely that the spy/Stevie’s not-so-secret boyfriend will be back this season: “We did complete his arc with the McCord family and his job with the CIA. We don’t have any immediate plans for him coming back.” BUT, the world of geopolitical intrigue is a very fickle place, and Hall wouldn’t rule out a return somewhere down the road. “We did give him the job that we gave him, which was we sent him to another post so we could leave it open to have him back for future storylines,” she adds.

Here's some scoop on Madam Secretary from this week's (Posted on 9/22/17) Ask Ausiello column.

Question: I’ve enjoyed all the scoop on my favorite shows all summer long, but two shows that consistently are never talked about are Blindspot and Madam Secretary! Please, any kind of scoop regarding what to expect in the upcoming seasons! Something juicy please! —Laura
Ausiello: How about Madam Secretary? It looks like we’re about to meet Blake’s folks: The show is casting Fred and Edie, the rich and snooty parents of Elizabeth’s right-hand man. When they show up, Mr. and Mrs. Moran are desperate to talk their son out of a life of public service… and into the private sector, where he can rake in the bills. The parts are recurring, too, so expect Mom and Dad to be around for a while. (Laura: I think you’ll like the next Q/A as well…)

Question: You haven’t spilled anything on Madam Secretary in a while! —Nicki
Ausiello: You’re in luck, Nicki: One of TVLine’s intrepid Outer Borough Spies tells us that the CBS drama recently filmed in the Bronx, and the location shoot seemed to involve some kind of major, scary event that happens at Jason’s school in the Season 3 premiere. Téa Leoni, Tim Daly and Evan Roe (who plays Jason) were on set, as were director Eric Stolz and exec producer Morgan Freeman. On a related note: Can’t the McCords have a “quiet evening in” every once in a while?!

Question: Come on, give: I think Madam Secretary is the best show on TV, and I need the dirt! —Andrew
Ausiello:
Did you pick up on the fact that there were a bunch of high-powered dignitaries — Elizabeth and President Dalton, as well as Maria Ostrov — very close to the area where the attack happened at the end of the fall finale? Because I did. “I’m so glad you saw that,” executive producer Barbara Hall tells TVLine, promising that the next episode will pick up right where the finale left off. “We’re not going to make you wait” to find out who lives or (gulp) dies, she continues. And the confusion over who was the attacker’s actual target? “The episode is pretty much dedicated to taking us down that path.”

Madam Secretary: Elizabeth and Henry related scoop on episode 1x13 from TVLine's Michael Ausiello

Here's some scoop on Madam Secretary from this week's (Posted on 11/5/14) Ask Ausiello column.

Question: I am loving Madam Secretary, especially the dynamic between Elizabeth and Henry. Any scoop on them? They need a date night ASAP. Thanks! —Emily
Ausiello: Maybe the Secretary of State will get that couple’s night when her father-in-law Phil shows up? Henry’s “blue collar and larger than life” dad will appear in Episode 13. Expect the steelworker-turned-union rep to be cantankerous and to have a giant chip on his shoulder when it comes to those who are well off — which is why he and Elizabeth will never be besties.

Madam Secretary: Scoop on Morgan Freeman's involvement with the show from TVLine's Matt Webb Mitovich

Here's some scoop on Madam Secretary from this week's (Posted on 9/25/14) Matt's Inside Line column.

Is that the Morgan Freeman who is a producer for Madam Secretary? What’s the connection there? –Jen
Yep, it’s the Morgan Freeman, who had been working with producer Lori McCreary to find just the right show to develop for CBS. “I do have time — not too much time — to get involved in other things, and I have always wanted to have a hand in telling the American story, so this is how I do that,” he explained at press tour. And before you ask, no, he has no immediate plans to appear on camera on the series.
