Gotham: Scoop on changes to the cast in season 2 from TVLine's Michael Ausiello

Here's some scoop on Gotham from this week's (Posted on 8/2/15) Ask Ausiello column.

Question: Do you have any info as to who will not be returning for Gotham Season 2 as a series regular? (Other than Jada Pinkett-Smith, I assume.) —Alex
Ausiello: Matt Mitovich did some digging around and learned that, as suspected, neither Victoria Cartagena nor Andrew Stewart-Jones (AKA Montoya and Allen) will return as regulars. Meanwhile, though Michael Chiklis is coming on board as GCPD Captain Nathaniel Barnes, Zabryna Guevara, who plays Captain Essen, is still a series regular — and in fact will play a key role this season.

Desiree, the three-boobed woman, and strong man Dell Toledo will make their way into camp in the second episode and they’ll make their presence known in a big way. First off, Desiree’s breasts are far from the only interesting thing about her, while Dell does not—I repeat—does not get along with his estranged family Jimmy and Ethel, though another Freak may pay the price in that regard.

American Horror Story: Scoop on Michael Chiklis' role in season 4 from TVLine's Michael Ausiello

Ausiello: Franchise virgin Michael Chiklis will be playing “a strong man who’s married to Angela Bassett['s character],” exec producer Ryan Murphy told us at Thursday’s Critics Choice Awards, where he was honored with the Louis XIII Genius Award. “He has scenes with Angela and Jessica Lange and [onscreen ex] Kathy Bates. I love the part because it’s really written to be quite vulnerable, which is something I think Michael does so well –  the strong man who’s vulnerable. I’m very excited to see [him] tussle with all those great ladies. And he’s really up for it, really excited about it.”
