Castle: Scoop on the possibility of Michael Dorn guest-starring in season 5 from TVLine's Matt Webb Mitovich

Here's some scoop on Castle from TVLine's Matt Webb Mitovich's weekly column Matt's Inside Line for the week of 8/30/12.

Castle | Dipping into the reader mailbag (it’s a nylon drawstring this week), Jennifer asks, “Is Michael Dorn going to be making any appearances this season on Castle? Even if it’s just a few times, I’ll take it! Oh and thanks for such an easy-to-navigate site. Far and away the best one out there.” (I left that last part in there simply to be shameless. And ’cause it’s true.) When I visited the set last month, Stana Katic suspected that Kate would at some point want to share with her shrink the latest developments, yet series creator Andrew Marlowe said they had not yet written Dr. Burke into an episode. “But it’s something that we’re talking about,” he added. “We loved having Michael as part of the cast.”

Castle | If you’ve been following Ask Ausiello – and really, why wouldn’t you be? – you know that Michael Dorn will soon be resurfacing as Beckett’s therapist, whom we last saw in November. So what’s the hot topic at Beckett’s next shrink session, airing April 16? “The catalyst,” series boss Andrew W. Marlowe told me, “is Beckett coming to grips with Castle’s behavior” in the wake of him discovering — unbeknownst to her — that his partner lied about remembering her shooting. “It’s also,” Marlowe continued, “about her coming to grips with what she wants, and what she’s ready for.”

Question: We haven’t seen Beckett’s psychiatrist, Dr. Burke, in a while on Castle. Got any clue if guest star Michael Dorn will be making an appearance before season’s end? —Ivy
Ausiello: I’ve got one word: yes! He’ll appear in late April/early May. Hmm…. I wonder what they’re going to discuss?!
