A Rant About Star Trek: Discovery

No matter how much news I hear about the upcoming new Star Trek series, Star Trek: Discovery, I’m still not all that excited about the show yet. The premise of the show just sounds kind of “iffy” to me. Plus, I also really hate the fact that it’s going to be airing on CBS’ subscription streaming service, CBS All Access. I already have a Netflix account, a subscription to the monthly Y.A. book box, OwlCrate, and I also have various other bills that I have to pay every month.

I’m definitely not a rich guy, so I don’t really like the idea of having to pay for the CBS All Access streaming service every month simply to be able to watch just one show. Honestly, I probably won’t be all that interested in watching anything else on CBS All Access. Even though I’m not all that excited about the show yet, I’ll definitely check out Star Trek: Discovery when it premieres. I’m just really hoping that I’ll be able to get more excited about the show once the cast is announced and promos for the show start to be released. As a Star Trek fan, the idea of finally having a new Star Trek TV series on the air is something that I feel like I should be excited about, but I’m honestly not all that jazzed about the show yet. (Sighs heavily) Okay, rant over.

Marseille: Scoop on what language the show will be in from TVLine's Matt Webb Mitovich

https://www.degroupnews.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/marseille-netflix.jpg

Here's some scoop on Marseille from this week's (Posted on 4/12/16) Matt's Inside Line column.

Is Netflix’s Marseille going to be in French (presumably) or in English? —Will
You presume muy bien, as my failed-French-in-high school self would say. The Gerard Depardieu-led original series will air en Francais but with English subtitles.

Gilmore Girls: Scoop on the final four words of the finale and more on the revival from TVLine's Michael Ausiello

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/5/55/Gilmore_girls_title_screen.jpg

Here's some scoop on the Gilmore Girls revival (Gilmore Girls: Seasons) from this week's (Posted on 2/18/16) Ask Ausiello column.

Question: True or false: You have a red phone in your office designated specifically for Gilmore Girls scoops. Any more intel? —Kirsten
Ausiello: False. The phone is Isabelline, to match the color of the Stars Hollow gazebo. As far as fresh intel goes, I carved out an exclusive little AA nugget from my chat with Milo Ventimiglia concerning a showdown between his Jess and Matt Czuchry’s Logan. Specifically, will the Netflix revival treat us to one? “I don’t even know the answer to that one, honestly,” he admitted to me. “I’ve only read up to a certain point.” So, it’s not a yes. But it’s also not a no. By my calculations, that makes it a maybe. Scoop!
Question: Lorelai Gilmore. Give us something. Anything. We’ve been given a finger and we want the entire hand and the coffee it’s holding. Please. —Danielle
Ausiello: I didn’t find Lauren Graham’s “both of you” comment from our recent Q&A as ambiguous as many of you apparently did. I interpreted that to mean that the final four words are going to be delivered by Lorelai and Rory. I could be wrong, but that was my takeaway.

Gilmore Girls: Emily related scoop on the revival from TVLine's Michael Ausiello

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/5/55/Gilmore_girls_title_screen.jpg

Here's some scoop on the Gilmore Girls revival from this week's (Posted on 2/6/16) Ask Ausiello column.

Question: Your Gilmore Girls articles have been a-mah-zing! I’m loving it! Thanks for being you! —Kelly
Ausiello: No, thank you, Kelly, for being the kind of individual who appreciates good journalism when she sees it. We need more people like you in this world. Oh, hey, speaking of G’Girls, I asked Kelly Bishop if she thinks Emily will ever be able to make room in her life for another man, and I saved her answer for Ask Ausiello on the off chance one of my readers complimented me on my coverage. Bishop noted that the first of the four 90-minute episodes, titled “Winter,” suggests that “four months” have passed since Richard’s death, adding, “So by the time you get to [Episode 4 aka ‘Fall’] a whole year will have passed. And I know from my experience, that the first year [after losing a loved one] is awful. But when you hit that first year you start to emerge from it.” In other words, if a new gentleman were to enter Emily’s orbit, it would likely be in “Fall” — which, as bad luck would have it, happens to be the one script Bishop hadn’t gotten around to reading (yet).

Sense8: I’m not going to lie, I’m obsessed with this show :)

I kind of want to do a blog post on the new show Sense8 and review it since I’m absolutely obsessed with that show at the moment. However, I’m reluctant to do that for several reasons. First off, Netflix releases the seasons of their shows in their entirety instead of releasing just one episode every week, similar to how shows are aired on TV. I’ve found reviewing entire seasons of a TV show in one blog post to be kind of challenging in the past. The other reason why I’m hesitant to review Sense8 is because I think it can be a really confusing show to watch at times, and I don’t like reviewing things that I find hard to follow. I think it’s important for me to understand whatever it is that I’m reviewing. Sense8 is definitely one of the most bizarre and confusing TV shows that I’ve ever watched in my entire life, but I still think it’s a really awesome show. :)

tells us that more Bluth family hijinks are ahead, it's just the format that is being worked out. "I can't really confirm precisely what's happening, but I can tell you that we are actively working on something right now," the man behind Gob reveals. "Once we have that nailed down then there will be more of an official announcement to come from Mitch Hurwitz. It's something that we're all open to doing and I think we're going to do."
