Once Upon a Time: The Knave related scoop and more on season 4 from TVLine's Matt Webb Mitovich

Here's some scoop on Once Upon a Time from this week's (Posted on 8/14/14) Matt's Inside Line column.

As excited as I am for Once Upon a Time‘s Frozen storyline, I’m curious as to how The Knave (played by Michael Socha) is going to fit in in Storybrooke. Know anything about that? – Sarah
Do I! Just seconds before publishing this week’s Inside Line, I got off the horn with Once creators Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis, the former of which said that The Knave’s “background as Will Scarlett, who was one of the Merry Men and a thief, comes into play very early.” Kitsis then added that for Wonderland fans, “We will be explaining why he’s in town. I can also say that he fits rather nicely into Storybrooke, and his introduction is a really fun one.”

Will Once Upon a Time’s Emma go house hunting or will she be living in that loft with Charming and Snow and a crying baby forever? –Shen
“Emma needs her own place, and we’d love for her to see it this year,” Eddy Kitsis agrees. And perhaps to that end, Adam Horowitz notes, “The domestic situation of the Charmings and Emma and Henry and Regina does fit into the early episodes” of Season 4, premiering Sept. 28.

Once Upon a Time: Scoop on Michael Socha's involvement with the show in season 4 from TVLine's Michael Ausiello

Socha

Here's some scoop on Once Upon a Time from this week's (Posted on 5/21/14) Ask Ausiello column.

Question: I gave Once Upon a Time in Wonderland a shot because I love Once Upon a Time, but I stuck with it partly because of Michael Socha as the Knave/Will Scarlet.  Do you have any intel on his role in OUAT Season 4?  –Julie
Ausiello: Interestingly, the series creators are thus far staying mum on how Socha will fit into next season. “It’s too early for us to tease,” Adam Horowitz says, “but we think Michael is a fabulous actor and we have a way for him to fit into our group that’s fun. He’ll bring a new vibe and color to the show.”

Modern Family: Watch out, Claire! You’re just about one wrong move away from being featured on STFU, Parents (My thoughts on episode 5x17 “Other People’s Children”)

Whenever I look back on Modern Family’s fourth season, I can’t help but view it as being the show’s weakest season. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t completely hate season four. It’s just that while the first three seasons have numerous episodes that I feel like watching repeatedly, season four doesn’t have nearly as many episodes that I feel that way about. While I do think that season four is currently the weakest season of Modern Family, I’ll admit that I found that a fair amount of season four episodes had really grown on me when I watching the season again on DVD. Personally, I feel like season five has been a major improvement compared to season four. Much like the first three seasons, I’ve one again felt like watching a lot of the season five episodes that aired at this point repeatedly, and I feel fairly comfortable guessing that when season five has ended, this will be one of the episodes that I’ll feel like watching numerous times in the future.

I feel like this episode really demonstrates one of the things that I’ve always viewed as being one of the show’s greatest strengths, which would be the fact that the writers handle the ensemble nature of the show perfectly for the most part. It’s also my opinion that the cast of Modern Family is the perfect size. There’s enough characters that give the writers a lot of different combinations to work with when it comes to pairing characters up for storylines, but the cast doesn’t have so many series regulars that the actors/characters are constantly being neglected by the writers, which has always been my main complaint about Once Upon a Time. All of the storylines in this episode feature some really great combinations of characters, and all of the storylines were very funny and a lot of fun to watch.

One of the themes that was featured in several of the storylines was the fact that by the end of the episode it was made very clear that a lot of the characters were putting on some kind of act around other people in this episode. One of the storylines that revolved around that idea was the whole thing with Cameron, Mitchell, Alex and Manny all going to a local art gallery together to see a new art exhibit. Towards the beginning of the episode, Cameron revealed in a couch interview that since he doesn’t know all that much about art, he had some research on the artist whose work he believed was currently on display at the gallery. He did this so he could come across as knowing what he was talking about when they were all at the art gallery. Unfortunately for Cameron, the exhibit that he had done research on was only a temporary exhibit and was no longer on display, which prompted him to try his next idea for how to handle the situation: Touch a painting and get kicked out of the gallery.

Once Upon a Time in Wonderland: Cyrus related scoop from TVGuide's Natalie Abrams

Here's some scoop on Once Upon a Time in Wonderland from TVGuide's Natalie Abrams' Mega Buzz column, which was posted on 2/4/14.

What's going to happen to Cyrus on Once Upon a Time in Wonderland? — Sam
An upcoming episode will explain Cyrus' backstory, including how he ended up in that bottle. "Cyrus is described as very arrogant and selfish," Peter Gadiot teases. "He's quite the opposite of the romantic Cyrus we see. He's going to be a complete d--- basically, and he's going to be punished for it by going into the bottle. After spending centuries in there to mull over his choices, he's realized it's good to be good."

Once Upon a Time: Scoop on the possibility of Jasmine and Aladdin being introduced on the show from TVLine's Matt Webb Mitovich

Here's some scoop on Once Upon a Time from this week's (Posted on 12/19/13) Matt's Inside Line column.

I think I remember a reference to my fave Disney princess, Jasmine, showing up on either Once Upon a Time or Once Upon a Time in Wonderland. But with so much Jafar and Agrabah in Wonderland, I can’t help but wonder if we’ll see Aladdin on either show. –Audrey
Not sure where you saw said “reference,” but delete that bookmark, pronto. Presented with the idea of Jasmine or Aladdin showing up on either Once series any time soon, EP Eddy Kitsis assured me, “That is not true.” So don’t pack your bags for Vancouver just yet, Azita and Sendhil!

Once Upon a Time in Wonderland: White Rabbit related scoop from E! Online's Kristin Dos Santos

Here's some scoop on Once Upon a Time in Wonderland from Kristin Dos Santos' Spoiler Chat column, which was posted on 10/16/13.

Chelsea: I cannot begin to tell you how much I'm loving Once Upon a Time in Wonderland! What else is coming up?
We suggest you keep your eye on one character in particular. He's may be cute and punctual, but this show's White Rabbit is oh-so sneaky! We just got off the phone with the voice that brings the White Rabbit to life, John Lithgow, and he tells us that our furry little friend has some tricks up his sleeve this season. "The White Rabbit is devious and not to be trusted, but the things that motivate him I think are understandable." The actor reveals, "I think that people ultimately will really like this character." Well, considering that the Red Queen was two seconds away from making rabbit stew in the pilot, I guess we can be a little bit slightly sympathetic.

Once Upon a Time in Wonderland: Scoop on the possibility of members of the cast of Once Upon a Time appearing on the show from E! Online's Kristin Dos Santos

Here's some scoop on Once Upon a Time in Wonderland from Kristin Dos Santos' Spoiler Chat column, which was posted on 10/11/13.

Regina M: I absolutely loved the premiere of Once Upon a Time in Wonderland last night! Could we possibly see any Storybrooke-Wonderland crossovers this season?
We adore this series and we were wondering the same thing! To get to the bottom of is, we caught up with Wonderland's executive producer Zack Estrin and asked him if would could ever expect a spellbinding switcheroo. "Right now in the beginning we're going to make sure that each show lives on its own," Estrin explains. "Wonderland is its own show, but down the road, who knows? You may see a familiar face or two making their way over to Wonderland. Certainly there are some who started in Wonderland who could always return." Our money is definitely on Cora—aka The Queen of Hearts!
