Two and a Half Men: Scoop on the series finale from TVLine's Matt Webb Mitovich

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/archive/5/51/20140831000717!Two_and_a_Half_Men-title.png

Here's some scoop on Two and a Half Men from this week's (Posted on 1/30/15) Matt's Inside Line column.

With the series finale of Two and Half Men just around the corner, and everyone concerned about whether Charlie Sheen will make an appearance, do you know if we’ll see other old characters make appearances as well? –Jon
“There’s going to be an awful lot of folks on the finale,” series creator Chuck Lorre promises, touting a veritable “cast of thousands.” As for prodigal son Sheen, Lorre coyly says, “We’re going to have a finale that you’ll be very, very pleased with. And that’s all I’m going to say.”

Major Crimes: Hold on tight everybody, because this episode is oozing with family drama (My thoughts on episode 3x11 “Down the Drain”)

Right off the bat, I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this episode, and I’ve really missed Major Crimes since its last episode (Zoo Story) aired back in August. As far as I’m concerned, when it comes to crime shows, it’s very important that the cases of the week be interesting and engaging, otherwise the show definitely suffers as a whole. Admittedly, I didn’t like the episode “Zoo Story” all that much as a whole because I thought that the case they were working on that episode was kind of boring, but I loved the subplot with Rusty’s mom being in jail and wanting Rusty’s help to get out of jail. While I found that episode rather disappointing for the most part, the last scene of the episode where Raydor visits Rusty’s mom in prison and tells her about the “deal” that she had arranged for her was truly awesome. I can’t even count how many times I’ve watched that scene at this point. Fortunately, when it comes to this episode, I found the case of the week very interesting. I thought it was full of twists and turns, and it definitely had some genuinely sad elements to it as well.

The team found a dead woman’s body in the sewer at the beginning of the episode, and after Dr. Morales examined her body, he discovered that she had recently given birth, and things only got more complicated from there. It turns out that she had been trying to pull off a big surrogacy scam on three different couples by leading them to believe that she was pregnant with their baby. One couple was apparently very wealthy, there was another couple involved and it was clear that the whole scam had put a major emotional and financial strain on their marriage. The other couple was gay a couple (Two men), and being bisexual myself, I think it’s always nice to see LGBT characters on TV.

However, the gay couple is a part of one of the few things that bugged me about this episode, which I’ll get to in a moment. Once the team found out that the baby was with the wealthy couple that she had been scamming, they had to determine which couple the baby belonged to, meaning that they had to do a paternity test. This brings me to one of my only complaints that I have with this episode. The gay couple apparently didn’t know which one of them was supposed to be the father since they had apparently wanted the doctors to randomly choose which one of them would be the father. Personally, I think the whole idea of two men having a child together, but not wanting to know which one of them is the father is something that I feel is a bit cliché when it comes to TV these days. However, it didn’t bug me nearly as much here, because all of the other times that I’ve seen TV shows do this, they’ve been comedies, namely Glee and most recently Marry Me, that have both used this idea as the basis of a joke by having the child be white when one of the two possible biological fathers is African American. Thankfully, the writers didn’t try to work that joke into the episode, which is why it didn’t bother me nearly as much here. The whole issue of the baby’s paternity became even more complicated when the team found out that the woman had a boyfriend in the picture, and Raydor realized that he could possibly be the baby’s father.

Here's some scoop on Two and a Half Men from Kristin Dos Santos' Spoiler Chat column, which was posted on 3/17/14.

Scott: Okay, I admit it: I still love Two and a Half Men. There, I said it. Got anything for me?
Hey no judgment—A lot of people still love that crazy Malibu beach house and things are about to get a whole lot crazier! In episode 20, our relationship-challenged Alan Harper is going to be surrounded by some pretty beautiful honeys. Two gorgeous gals, Tracy and Donna, are going to show up in Alan's new chiropractic clinic and let's just say, things get pretty damn awkward…

Two and a Half Men: Walden and Jenny related scoop on season 11 from E! Online's Kristin Dos Santos

Here's some scoop on Two and a Half Men from Kristin Dos Santos' Spoiler Chat column, which was posted on 9/18/13.

Connor: How about something on Two and a Half Men?
Get ready Two and a Half Men fans, because we're having a sex-off! Well, kind of. We all know that Walden has quite the way with the ladies, but his new roommate (and daughter of the late player Charlie Harper) Jenny is a bit of a womanizer too. In fact, there will be one morning where both of their dates are going to do the walk of shame out of the beach house together. Poor Alan! Always all alone...

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia: TV’s funniest comedy is back! Sorry, Modern Family, but I’m not talking about you (My thoughts on the season 9 premiere: Episode 9x01 “The Gang Broke Dee”)

After waiting for what felt like an eternity, season nine of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia is finally here and I’m happy to say that the season premiere definitely didn’t disappoint me for the most part. Right off the bat, I would like to say that I definitely liked this episode more than the season eight premiere (“Pop-Pop: The Final Solution”). Don’t get me wrong, I loved the season eight premiere, it’s just that I thought this episode was a slightly stronger season premiere for the show. One of the reasons why I love this episode so much is that while It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia is an ensemble show, this was essentially a Dee centric episode, and I tend to pretty much enjoy any episode that’s centered around Dee or episodes that are centered largely around Dee and perhaps one other character.

The episode opened with the guys watching Dee in horror as she was eating a cake that Charlie mentioned that he had previously thrown it out, while she was also smoking a cigarette and had also clearly not showered in several days. In typical fashion, Dennis, Charlie, Mac and Frank all started trying to make fun of her, saying that she looks like a bird. Only this time, Dee kept finishing their sentences since the guys have always pretty only primarily used the same set of insults and rude comments, much to the guys disappointment. After Dee finally left the bar, the guys came to the conclusion that they had “broken” Dee.

The guys quickly took it upon themselves to try and cheer Dee up in their own messed up way. Charlie, Mac and Frank believed the best way to cheer Dee up was to sign her up for an open mike night at a comedy club, figuring that since Dee didn’t seem to care about anything anymore that she won’t gag when she’s on stage and trying to do stand up like she usually does. Dennis disagreed with this plan, saying that he thought the best way to get Dee out of her funk was to find her a man to be with. Dennis being Dennis went about this in a very backhanded way, telling Dee that the guy would at best be simply average, if not below average. While I loved this episode for being such a Dee centric episode, I also loved all of the parts featuring Dennis, at times I enjoyed the parts of the episode with Dennis even more than I enjoyed the parts of the episode that were focused primarily on Dee. Glenn Howerton always does a fantastic job on the show, but I especially enjoyed his performance in this episode.

Charlie, Mac and Frank ended up being right when they thought Dee wouldn’t gag on stage now that she didn’t seem to care about anything. Her first stand up routine did start out a little rough though, because at first she was just standing in front of the microphone sighing heavily and acting completely out of it until somebody in the audience yelled at her to say something. Dee proceeded to lament about her life and how the joke always seems to be on her, and the audience apparently thought what she was saying was funny, because they were laughing. This also led to Dee’s catch phrase throughout the episode becoming, “I’m Sweet Dee, and the joke’s on me.”

Two and a Half Men: Scoop on Amber Tamblyn's character in season 11 from E! Online's Kristin Dos Santos

Here's some scoop on Two and a Half Men from Kristin Dos Santos' Spoiler Chat column, which was posted on 9/5/13.

Aron: Please tell me we'll be seeing some girl on girl action on Two and a Half Men. I love Amber Tamblyn!
We'd call you creepy, but we bet the rest of America is thinking the same thing. We do know that there will be an episode involving Amber's character and three of her girlfriends going out partying. Whether that will lead into a more-than-friends situation is not quite clear, but at the very least we'll see a drunk girl fall down?

Here's some scoop on Two and a Half Men from Kristin Dos Santos' Spoiler Chat column, which was posted on 8/19/13.

Cynthia: I was a huge Joan of Arcadia fan, so I'm happy to have Amber Tamblyn back on TV! What can we expect from her Two and a Half Men debut?
Jenny will waste no time when she first appears on the CBS sitcom, already hooking up with a pretty young thing in episode two…only to leave her alone in Walden's house after their wild night together. Like father, like daughter!

Two and a Half Men: Scoop on Amber Tamblyn's involvement with the show in season 11 from E! Online's Kristin Dos Santos

Here's some scoop on Two and a Half Men from Kristin Dos Santos' Spoiler Chat column, which was posted on 8/15/13.

Karen: I love that Amber Tamblyn is coming to Two and a Half Men. I hear she might be a new series regular…true or false?
For right now…false. Jon Cryer told us that Tamblyn, who will play Charlie's long-lost bisexual daughter, will only be around for "a little while," but that could change. "We don't know how long, but then, do we ever know how long?" he joked. "It's very exciting. We just had our first run through with her and it was great." By the way, did you know that Amber is best friends with Blake Lively?

Men at Work: This show is absolutely hilarious and a wonderful surprise :) (My quick thoughts on episode 2x09 "Long Distance Tyler")

I just started watching Men at Work, and I have to say that show is absolutely hilarious. Although, for the record I've only seen the series premiere and this week's episode. It was a lot of fun seeing Jessica Szohr on the show. I always kind of liked her on Gossip Girl. She's one of the reasons why I decided to check out this week's episode. I had been wanting to check out Men at Work long before I found out that Jessica was going to be guest-starring on the show though.

The biggest surprise of the episode was seeing Ashton Kutcher on the show. I wasn't expecting that at all. I thought he was hilarious, especially when it comes to the fact that he was talking with a southern accent. It was a lot of fun seeing Danny Masterson and Ashton Kutcher working together again. I always loved them on That '70s Show. I wonder how Ashton Kutcher managed to have the time to guest-star on Men at Work though since he's a series regular on Two and a Half Men. I'm guessing that he was done filming Two and a Half Men for the season when he filmed his scenes for this episode. Regardless, it was definitely a lot of fun to see Ashton Kutcher on Men at Work.

The entire episode was truly wonderful and incredibly funny though. Men at Work really is a great show. If you're not already watching it, I definitely recommend checking the show out. I really regret not watching the show sooner, and I pray to God that it gets renewed for a third season.

That being said, I give the episode a rating of an A+.

Two and a Half Men: Scoop on Brooke D’Orsay's role from TVLine's Matt Webb Mitovich

Here's some scoop on Two and a Half Men from TVLine's Matt Webb Mitovich's weekly column Matt's Inside Line for the week of 11/19/12.

I hear that Brooke D’Orsay may be getting a recurring role on Two and a Half Men. If so, what will happen to her character on Royal Pains? –Nancy
For one, I can confirm that D’Orsay’s Men role — as a love interest for Walden — will in fact be a recurring one. That said, I am also assured that her Royal Pains status will remain unaffected – which is a relief, since Paige and Evan are due to tie the knot in next month’s two-hour movie.

Not to scare you more or anything, but Two and a Half Men is looking for someone to play an Army Recruiter. Now, why would they want to send someone off to the army? Isn't that kind of like saying…goodbye?! Ah, but we're just speculating, so what do we know?

Angela in Miami, Fla: I was so excited in last week's Two and a Half Men when I saw that Walden shaved his beard and cut his hair! Any other shockers?!
Oh, you betcha! In episode 17, Walden (Ashton Kutcher) meets a beautiful woman named Jennifer in an elevator, and she starts flirting with him. In other news... the sky is blue, cotton candy is delicious and kittens are adorable. (Who wouldn't flirt with that handsome face?)

A Mid-Season update on what TV shows that I'll be blogging about for the spring of 2011 ***(Second Update)***

Hi, everybody!
Since pretty much all of the shows that I blog about are currently on a mid-season break and won’t be airing new episodes until January, I figured that I would give an update on what shows I’ll be blogging about for the last half of the year. I was originally planning to graduate in December, which would have hopefully left me with a little bit more free time to write thoughts posts on various TV shows for my blog, but I recently found out that I need to take a few more credit hours in order to graduate. The soonest I’ll be able to graduate now is in May. While I won’t be taking as many credit hours as I did this semester, I’ll still be pretty busy with school starting in January, and my schoolwork definitely needs to come first.

Given the change in my plans, as well as the change in the level of enjoyment that I get from watching some of the shows that I blog about, as well the change in popularity with my readers for some of the shows that I blog about, I’ve decided to revise the list of shows that I’ll be blogging about for the remainder of the Fall 2011/Spring 2012 TV season. The season seven finale of It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia airs tonight, so once I’ve written and posted my thoughts post on the season finale, I’ll be done blogging about that show until late August/early September of next year. Initially, I was planning to write thoughts posts on each episode of season four of 90210, but then I quickly fell behind on watching the show and frankly, I’ve found myself not enjoying season four very much, so I don’t really feel like blogging about it every week. Also, I was considering blogging about Two and a Half Men when I saw how many views my posts about the season were getting before the season started, but I’ve decided not to since all of the episodes were somehow accidentally deleted from my DVR a while ago. Besides, people’s interest in this season of the show seems to have died down.

I recently finally watched the series premiere of Hart of Dixie, and I got hooked on the show instantly, and the promos and news articles for the show that I’ve posted have gotten a fair amount of views, so I’m going to start blogging about the show every week now. I bought a season pass for Hart of Dixie on iTunes yesterday, so I’m going to try my absolute best to have a blog post written for every episode that has aired so far before the show returns with new episodes in January.

I’m going to continue to blog about Parenthood and Modern Family every week, since I really like both of shows, and Modern Family is one of my favorite TV shows. Also, my posts regarding Modern Family get a decent amount of views. I will of course continue to blog about Gossip Girl every week since it’s another one of my favorite TV shows, and it’s the most popular show with my readers in terms of the large amount of page views all of my posts regarding the show get.

To recap, I’ll be blogging about the following TV shows for the remainder of the year:

  • Gossip Girl
  • Modern Family
  • Parenthood
  • Hart of Dixie

******(Second Update)******

I just wanted to let everyone know that I've decided to blog about Shameless (U.S. Series) every week as well once season two starts in January. I wanted to blog about it every week when the show first premiered last January because I absolutely love that show, but I quickly found it very challenging to do that since I pretty much always had to watch the episodes on TV if I wanted to watch them several times just to make sure that I remembered everything that I wanted to mention in my posts. I have iTunes season passes for all of the shows that I blog about so I can work on my posts when I'm not at home and watch the episodes again if I need too, but episodes of Shameless weren't available to buy on iTunes at the time, so I wasn't able to do that. Earlier tonight I discovered that iTunes already has season one available to buy even though the season one DVDs don't come out until December 27th, so I bought season one on iTunes so I can write thoughts posts for the remaining eleven episodes before season two starts.

Once season two starts, I'll probably just have to take notes on the episodes when I watch them for the second time that I can refer to later when I'm writing my posts. Regardless of how I handle writing thoughts posts for season two of Shameless, I'll come up with a system of some kind so I can work on my posts when I'm not at home if I want to.

******(Second Update)******

I’ll be sure to let everyone know if anything thing changes in terms of what TV shows I blog about every week. I’d like to once again thank everyone who reads my blog for reading it, as well as the people who’ve been spreading the word about my blog by retweeting the links to my blog posts that I tweet on Twitter. My blog wouldn’t be as successful as it is without all of you.

Cheers,
Taylor Madison Street

'Two and a Half Men' EP Chuck Lorre: 'I offered to quit the show'-From Inside the Box-Zap2it

charlie-sheen-chuck-lorre.jpgIt's been quite the year for "Two and a Half Men" EP Chuck Lorre. And it turns out when the whole Charlie Sheen brouhaha was emerging, Lorre was willing to take the hit.

"I offered to quit the show last winter," Lorre tells TV Guide. "I said, 'Listen, if for some reason I'm now the Antichrist I'm happy to leave. It's not in my interest to stop the show, and I certainly don't want to put all these people out of work. Keep going. Get another guy. Don't stop on my account."

He adds that the relationship between himself and Sheen became so toxic, certainly aided by Sheen's wild barbs, that there was no room for reconciliation.

Lorre says he told Warner Bros and CBS, "I can't work with a guy who has decided that he hates my guts."

He then explains what factored into the ultimate decision regarding Lorre and Sheen's fate as well as the future of the highly-rated sitcom.

"[The studio and network] chose to make a moral decision as opposed to a financial one," Lorre says. "But people were really frightened that they were signing off on what could have had devastating consequences. This was not a game. This was drug addiction writ large. This was big-time cocaine and in his own words, an 'epic drug run' that could have ended with either his death or someone else's."

In the end, it appears they made the right decision. "Two and a Half Men" signed on Ashton Kutcher to play a new character, Walden Schmidt. The ratings have remained steady, if not slightly up, over Sheen's final year with the show. And Lorre no longer has employees calling him "a little maggot."

Perhaps that's winning?

Two and a Half Men: CBS head says show could last 'for many, many years' - From Inside the Box-Zap2it

les-moonves-gi-320.jpgCharlie Sheen has made his opinion known about getting bounced from "Two and a Half Men." Chuck Lorre has said his piece too. Now CBS chief Les Moonves weighs in the matter than nearly killed the hit comedy.

"S*** happens," Moonves says during Hollywood Radio and Television Society's luncheon on Thursday (Nov. 17). "I'm glad that it's a chapter that's closed. It just wasn't fun. It's no good when there's rancor; it's no good when you have lawyers involved in a TV show."

The Wrap notes that Moonves then touted the show, calling attention to how well it's performed with the addition of Ashton Kutcher.

Moonves says, "This show could last with the current numbers it has for many, many years."

The CBS head did express disappointment with Kutcher's recent comments about the sex scandal at Penn State. It is here that Kutcher chided the university for firing football coach Joe Paterno without realizing that JoePa was possibly involved in covering up child sex abuse. Kutcher has since apologized for these comments.

TVLine Items: Mimi Rogers Plays Mom on Men, Closer Vet Declines Spinoff Spot and More-TVLine

Two and a Half Men is adding a new lady to the mix.

Mimi Rogers is set to appear in multiple episodes of the CBS staple, playing the mother of Ashton Kutcher’s Walden Schmidt, Deadline reports. Men‘s self-made millionaire apparently got his brains from his lookalike mom, who happens to be a noted primatologist.

Ready for more of today’s TV dish? Well…

• Looks like The Closer is getting spun off without Corey Reynolds. Deadline is reporting that the actor has turned down a spot on Major Crimes, the long-running TNT drama’s upcoming offshoot. In the meantime, Reynolds has signed a talent holding deal at NBC.

Everwood alert! Treat Williams has landed a guest spot on an upcoming episode of Law & Order: SVU. Per TVGuide.com, the NBC procedural has cast the Against the Wall actor as a former quarterback caught with an underage prostitute.

Hellcats alumna Ashely Tisdale will appear in the Valentine’s Day installment of Fox’s Raising Hope, playing Jimmy’s fake girlfriend, per EW.com.

Jennie Garth is set to star in and executive-produce a half-hour comedy pilot for ABC Family, titled Village People. The 90210 alumna will play a single, career-driven woman who adopts a baby from a teen mom, whom she ends up “adopting” as well.

Wilmer Valderrama (That 70′s Show) will guest-star on an episode of ABC’s freshman comedy Suburgatory, playing a new age spiritual (and sexual!) guru, TVGuide.com reports.
