♦ Reese Witherspoon’s production company is getting a nice shout-out (or two or three) on Younger. A (fictional) executive from Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine shingle will enter the picture in Season 5 and set her sights on Pauline’s book (while also taking a shine to Zane).
Question: I’m really worried about Josh and Kelsey hooking up on Younger. Like, too much to enjoy the episodes. Help? —Susan
Ausiello: I’m not sure I can help you with all of your issues, Susan, but at least I can make your Wednesday nights a little less stressful: If Josh and Kelsey do get together, it won’t be for several more weeks. Maggie’s assistant Montana will have Josh pretty securely under her spell for a bit.
Question: Desperate Younger fan here! Anything you can tell me about Season 4? –Lucy
Ausiello: Actually, Lucy, we recently visited the Younger set, where star Sutton Foster revealed how things pick back up when the show returns on June 28: “Season 4 starts with [Liza and Kelsey] back on that couch, so I had to make sure that dress still fit. We start right back in that conversation between her and Kelsey, and Kelsey does not take it well, which I expected. But what did surprise me was how everything unfolds after that. I had no idea how her reaction would affect the show, how it would all play out.”
Question: Josh has every right to be mad at Liza on Younger, but I have to know if there’s any hope for my favorite couple on TV. –Julie
Ausiello: There’s always hope, Julie, especially since we’ve got (at least) two more seasons to spend with the Younger gang. That said, Season 4 will introduce us to Clare, a sexy, age-appropriate Brooklyn bartender who falls pretty hard for Josh. In other words, if Liza wants to win him back, she’s got her work cut out for her.
Question: Loved your little Younger script tease this week… but now I need more. What can you tell me? Anything? –Lee
Ausiello: Don’t worry, Lee, I’ve got your fix — though you might want to be sitting down for this one: Younger is introducing a third potential suitor for Liza in Season 4. It’s a 40-something gentleman named Tucker Stevens, and although he doesn’t initially present himself in a romantic light, we have a feeling she’ll come around. Oh, and did I mention he’s trying to court Liza to a rival publishing house?
Question: Can you share any dish about Younger? –Anna
Ausiello: This one’s kind of a doozy, Anna: Though you shouldn’t count out Thad’s twin brother just yet, it looks like Kelsey is getting a new love interest in Season 3. Hilary Duff’s character has a chance meeting with a charming New Yorker employee at a literary event, and there are definitely sparks. (Pun intended.)
