Scoop: Desperate Housewives To End in May 2012 - TVLine - TVLine
I have to say that while I am sad that Desperate Housewives will be ending after this season, I definitely think that announcing season eight as the final season of Desperate Housewives is the right move on ABC's part. Season seven wasn't very good at all for the most part, if you ask me. Plus, I do think that eight seasons is a good, long run for any TV show in this day and age.
