Happy Endings Exclusive: Sunny's Mary Elizabeth Ellis Makes [Spoiler] Pregnant!-TVLine

According to TVLine's Matt Webb Mitovich, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, who plays The Waitress on It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia will be guest-starring in an upcoming episode of Happy Endings. Here's an excerpt from the original article, which gives some details on Ellis' role:

TVLine has learned exclusively that the It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia waitress has booked a guest-starring role on the ABC comedy as Anna, a childhood friend of Jane and Alex’s who comes for a visit and immediately rubs Penny — whom she also knew back in the day — the wrong way by being really, really, really (wait for it) nice.

In fact, Anna is so persistently friendly and oppressively helpful that she sets in motion a chain of events that leads one of the gals to fake a pregnancy just to (unsuccessfully) ditch the super-clingy pal.

My thoughts on this casting news: I think the timing of announcing Mary Elizabeth Ellis' guest-star role on Happy Endings is very funny, because as soon as I got done watching this week's Valentine's Day episode of Happy Endings, my first thought was that it had made me laugh just as much as It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia always makes me laugh whenever I'm watching it or simply thinking about it. To me, Mary Elizabeth Ellis guest-starring in an episode of Happy Endings is going to be like two of my favorite comedies on TV are kind of merging together as one for an episode.
