Suits: Season 2 Preview-TVLine

Here's an interview that TVLine's Megan Masters did with executive producer David Bartis, which gives a preview of the second season of Suits. In the interview, Bartis talks about who will know Mike's secret about not having gone to law school in season two, Mike's progression as a lawyer, the various secondary characters on the show, Harvey's love life in season two, and the introduction the firm's boss who will be played by David Constabile. Here's an excerpt from the article, which gives some scoop on Mike's progression as a lawyer:

TVLINE | How would you describe the dynamic between Mike and Harvey in Season 2?
It’s definitely evolved… You’ll see Harvey (played by Gabriel Macht) giving Mike (Patrick J. Adams) more responsibility. He’s a little more independent and taking on more cases, but he’s still very much learning from Harvey. We wanted to make sure it was a gradual development, and not just come back and he’s another version of Harvey; he’s growing into a different version.

My thoughts: After reading this interview, I'm even more excited for season two than I was before. It sounds like the viewers are in for a fantastic second season. I'm so glad to hear that Mike will learn to be more independent as a lawyer in season two, because one of the few complaints that I had about the first season one was the fact that Mike was almost always losing in court unless he had Harvey or Rachel around to come in and rescue him. I still can't believe he almost lost in housing court given how easy to win in housing court Harvey and Rachel made it seem. It constantly had me wondering how the people at the firm could possibly not figure out that Mike never went to law school.
