Here's an article by TVLine's Vlada Gelman, which gives some scoop on season 3 of Happy Endings directly from executive producer, David Caspe. In the article, Caspe talks about what will be happening between Alex and Dave now that they are getting back together. He also talks about what will be happening with Max and Penny in the season 3 premiere as well as later in the season. Finally, he gives some scoop on what will be happening with Brad now that he's unemployed and how it will affect his marriage to Jane. Here's an excerpt from the article:
MARRIED LIFE | While Brad’s adjusting to life on the unemployment line, complete with a tutorial from Max on how to live on the cheap, Jane gets a new job at a car dealership. Will all the professional changes take a toll on their happy marriage? Hardly! “They have to spend a little more time apart, which only makes the sex so much better,” says Eliza Coupe. “They want it more.” Meanwhile, a visit from Jane’s parents (played by Christopher McDonald and Julie Hagerty) will reveal that things aren’t so perfect between Brad and her pops. “The mom and him are great,” explains Damon Wayans Jr. “The dad and him are… [Brad doesn't] really know what to say to the dad. You either have a really good relationship with the dad or a weird one. It’s a weird one.”

My thoughts: I'm beyond thrilled that Happy Endings is finally returning for its third season. I personally believe that Happy Endings is an extremely underrated show that deserves to get much higher ratings than it has been getting. I know that Modern Family is both a ratings monster and a force to be reckoned with at the Emmys, and as much as I love Modern Family, it's not my #1 favorite comedy on TV right now. My favorite comedy on TV is definitely It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia.
However, after Happy Endings' phenomenal second season I would say that it's pretty much a virtual tie between It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia and Happy Endings. Happy Endings is at the very least a very close second favorite when it comes to what my favorite comedy is. Honestly, it's way too difficult for me to decide which one I like more between It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia and Happy Endings. Trying to decide what my favorite of the two shows is is like a parent trying to pick a favorite child. It's basically impossible, because both shows are absolutely amazing.
