Parks and Recreation: Leslie and Ben related scoop on season 7 from TVGuide's Adam Bryant
Here's some scoop on Parks and Recreation from TVGuide's Adam Bryant's Mega Buzz column, which was posted on 11/18/14.
How will Leslie and Ben be different when Parks and Recreation returns? — Eddie
Other than the obvious — aka being parents to three kids — and the ridiculous — "We're just inventing stupid 2017 technology," Amy Poehler jokes — viewers should keep their eyes peeled for small, Easter egg-like nods to things that have changed. "The writers did a good job of just finding those little differences and advancements that you'll definitely notice this season," Adam Scott says. The other most notable difference will be seen in Leslie and Ben's professional lives. "You're going to see a bit more experienced Leslie and Ben," Scott says. "It's three years later and they're good at this. Not that they weren't before, but they have a little more blood under the bridge."

Question: Any Parks and Recreation spoilers you can share? —Morgan M
Ausiello: Oh, do I ever. Series co-creator Mike Schur tells us that something happens in the last three minutes of the April 24 finale “that’s completely out of left field and totally unprecedented in the history of the show,” adding, “It will be a gigantic, earth-shattering thing going forward. It affects everyone. It’s a very big, seismic shift.” Theories?! Also, BONUS SCOOP from Adam Scott: “There’s an episode coming up where Ron and Ben have some real quality time together. We get stranded in a winery. We get wasted together.”

Well, the auditing bros, Butch Countsidy and the Sumdance Kid, will get a nice farewell. "It was really kind of sad, but our characters get a nice goodbye," Adam Scott tells E! News. Scott and Lowe's characters both came to Pawnee together at the end of season two to save the town from budgetary collapse…the rest is history.

Any Parks and Rec scoop? Pretty please with anything but salad on top! — Marie
I like how you bribe, Marie. Here’s what I have, we all know that Leslie is in the middle of some personal (ANN!!) and professional turmoil. And it looks like Ben could fall upon some troubles of his own. ”Leslie’s going through this crisis — this recall crisis — and I think in extension, Ben may have some sort of…there may be some sort of career crisis on the horizon for him as well,” teases Adam Scott. What, exactly? He wouldn’t say, but I’d love to hear your guesses.

Any early scoopage on our pals at the Pawnee Parks department? — Jeff
Adam Scott, who right now is in the middle of filming Hot Tub Time Machine 2, says his hiatus has been quiet on the information front: “I usually hear about that sort of stuff as we get a little closer to shooting. So I would imagine in a month that if I call you, I can tell you everything,” he says. But what does he hope is in store? Shirtlessness, naturally. “They know how great it is when I take my shirt off, so they’ll probably be writing a lot of that into next season,” he said in a joking tone, quickly retracting. “Me taking my shirt off is not great at all. Ever. It’s a bad move for any show.” [Insert my disagreement here.]

Parks and Recreation's Adam Scott--Emmys 2012-TVLine
Here's an interview that Adam Scott did with TVLine's Megan Masters. In the interview, Scott talks about his decision to enter into the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series category instead of the Supporting Actor category for the Emmy's this year. He also talks about working on Parks and Recreation and what it was like working with all of the guest-stars they had on the show last year, his thoughts on Ben and Leslie's relationship as well as his favorite moments from season 4. Here's an excerpt from the article where Adam Scott talks about his decision to enter himself in the Emmys as a Lead Actor:
TVLINE | First things first: Why did you decide to jump from Supporting to Lead Actor this year?
Let’s face it, there’s one true lead on the show, and that’s Amy [Poehler]. But just by virtue of the fact that this season my story coincided with hers for a lot, I thought that I could justify the move and spread [the odds] out a bit since there are a lot of actors on our show — and they’re all equally deserving of recognition. I think this is something that I could do on a season-by-season basis, since maybe next year it wouldn’t be appropriate. But this year, after checking with [creator] Mike [Schur] and Amy and [co-star] Nick [Offerman], I felt like I could swap categories.
TVLINE | Ben is obviously one of Parks’ straight-man personalities. Do you see that as a hindrance Emmy-wise, given that outlandish or quirky characters are more often the ones that bring home the trophy?
That’s a really good question. I don’t know… I do think that one of the blessings of Parks is that Mike and all the writers are so sharp, that even the so-called straight-man characters — which I would say probably comes down to Rashida Jones and me — have their moments of going off the rails. Ben gets nervous around cops, which is a really weird thing! [Laughs] He’s just inappropriately nervous around people in authority positions. So, everyone gets their moment to be a freak, without completely taking the grounded element away from the character. That’s really great writing more than anything, I think.

My thoughts: I personally would love to see Adam Scott win the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy series. Next to Tom, Ben Wyatt is my favorite of all the guys on the show. Adam Scott always makes me laugh in pretty much every scene that he's in. I'm in favor of any actor besides Jim Parsons winning the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy series this year. I love The Big Bang Theory, but Sheldon constantly annoyed the hell out of me this year, and I don't think that Jim Parsons deserves to win this year.
