Anger Management: Scoop on Lindsay Lohan's role from TVLine's Michael Ausiello

Here's some scoop on Anger Management from this week's (Posted on 3/26/13) Ask Ausiello column.

Question: I’m ashamed to admit I watch (and enjoy) Anger Management. Go ahead and judge me, but do it after you give me some scoop. —Jenna
Ausiello: FX’s Charlie Sheen comedy is currently shooting an episode titled “Charlie Gets Lindsay Lohan In Trouble,” which tells us two things: Lilo will be playing herself (which we knew). And the show is going to have some fun lampooning that pesky image problem of hers (which was inevitable). I also hear Lohan will find herself shooting a commercial for a Japanese gum for alcoholics called Number One Happy Whiskey Chew (which I’m pretty sure we didn’t know). And with that, the judging of Jenna begins!

"Anger Management": Curious as to what Lindsay Lohan will be doing when she guest stars on Charlie Sheen's show? We can reveal that she's playing herself ... in an ad for a Japanese gum called Number One Happy Whiskey Chew. It's gum that tastes like booze, but has no alcohol in it, so it won't break her parole. Classy, right? When she doesn't like how she's being portrayed in the commercial -- as "some drunk girl that hooks up with strangers and animals" -- Charlie counsels her.

We got ahold of some of the stuff Lindsay Lohan will be doing in her episode, and it's actually kind of funny, because she's almost mocking herself. For example: In the episode, she'll be shooting a commercial for whiskey-infused gum and refer to her parole troubles. The episode title? A simple "Charlie & Lindsay."

Charlie Sheen's Anger Management Headed to FX-TVLine

Charlie Sheen’s new comedy Anger Management has been picked up by FX, the network announced late Thursday.

The cabler has ordered 10 episodes of the sitcom, loosely based on the Joe Roth-produced 2003 feature starring Jack Nicholson and Adam Sandler, to premiere in summer 2012. As previously reported, comedy vet Bruce Helford (George Lopez, The Drew Carey Show) will serve as showrunner.

“We think that Bruce Helford, Joe Roth and Charlie Sheen have come up with a wonderful, hilarious vehicle for Charlie’s acting talents — and a character we are very much looking forward to seeing him play,” said FX prez John Landgraf. “Two and a Half Men [reruns have] been an outstanding component of FX’s schedule for the past 14 months, and we have every confidence that Anger Management will soon be as well.”

Over the summer, Sheen said he chose to follow up his rocky run on Two and a Half Men with Anger Management because of both the “great concept” and the opportunity to have “real ownership in the series” and “a certain amount of creative control.”

There’s no word if Sheen’s contract included a morality clause. Our guess is it did.
