Matilda: I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am for Chris Colfer's Glee episode. Got any scoop on that?
Why yes—yes we do! In fact, we just got off the phone with the one-and-only Chris Colfer and he filled us in on all the goods. "The main storyline is about Kurt. He's really one of the only ones left in the group who hasn't really made a name for himself yet, and he's feeling very down about that. So he's looking for something to supply him with that validation," the actor-turned-Glee-writer exclusively told us. "He finds it when he meets this woman named Maggie who lives at an assisted living home, and he ends up joining that assisted living home's production of Peter Pan." Fingers crossed we'll be seeing Kurt in bright green tights this Tuesday!

Loosely translated by Chris Colfer: “We pretty much fight up until the end of this season.” And Colfer wouldn’t have it any other way. “I love it whenwe fight,” confesses the actor, whose Glee script-writing debut airs next week. “It’s funny, the fans get upset with me when I say things like this, but we’re actors. That’s why we go to work, for the drama. I’m very happy when there’s some drama with them.”

We're thrilled to! So we made sure to ask Chris Colfer about his episode plans when we caught up with him at Glee's 100th episode celebration. "I could totally do a completely selfish episode and it would be like a Miley Cyrus tribute episode," he laughed. "But no I think I'm going to do something with animals and the elderly, something we haven't done yet." Not to worry, Glee fans, we suggested the perfect guest star for Chris' episode: Rebel Wilson. "Oh I would love to have her on," Colfer gushed. "She's incredible and I'd love to have her on in any way. Plus, she can sing." Better start tweeting those words of encouragement, gleeks!

Parks and Recreation: Rob Lowe & Rashida Jones Leaving In Season 6-TVLine

According to TVLine's Megan Masters, Rob Lowe and Rashida Jones will be leaving Parks and Recreation in the 13th episode of the show's upcoming sixth season. Here's an excerpt from the article, which gives some details on Lowe and Jones' departure from the show:

“The news about Rob and Rashida is true — they will be leaving the show after the 13th episode of the upcoming season six,” Mike Schur says. ” We’ve been working on their storyline (on and off) for four seasons now, and heading into this year, with the two of them contemplating parenthood, it felt like a natural time to move them into the next phase.

“We absolutely love both Rashida and Rob, and will be sad to see them go.  Rashida was one of the very first people we knew we wanted in the cast, and as important as Ann is to Leslie (and vice-versa), she’ll certainly never be far from Pawnee.  Rob we initially thought we could only have for six or eight episodes, and we couldn’t be happier that he will have stuck around for 75.”

Schur continues, “They are wonderful, funny, committed actors, they’ve been a huge part of the Parks and Rec family, and we think we have a great Pawnee send-off in the works for them.”

This isn’t the first time Lowe has left a series before the end of its run. The actor famously walked away from The West Wing during Season 4, on the heels of a salary dispute/decreased airtime. (“It has been increasingly clear, for quite a while, that there was no longer a place for Sam Seaborn on The West Wing,” he said in a statement at the time.)

Jones has been part of Parks since its April 2009 debut, while Lowe came aboard the sitcom in the final leg of Season 2.

Parks and Recreation‘s London-set, hour-long premiere airs Sept. 26.

My thoughts: Finding out that Rob Lowe and Rashida Jones will be leaving the cast of Parks and Recreation in the 13 episode of season six was literally the worst thing that happened to me yesterday. I definitely have mixed feelings about Rashida Jones leaving the show. On the one hand, Ann is Leslie's best friend and Rashida Jones has been a part of the cast since the show started, so it will definitely be weird not having Ann around once Rashida Jones leaves on the show.

On the other hand, the presence of the character Ann often felt rather forced to me during Parks and Recreation's first two seasons; although her presence on the show finally made sense to me in season three when she started working for the health department as the department's public relations director part-time. While I find the dynamic between Leslie and Ann rather funny for the most part, I've often found the way Leslie treats Ann and the way she talks to Ann or about Ann kind of creepy at times. I've often felt like she loves Ann in a romantic sense. If Leslie feels that way about Ann, I don't have problem with that, it's just the way she expresses herself that makes it seem creepy to me at times.

Leslie's behavior towards Ann actually kind of reminds me of Kurt's crush on Finn during Glee's first season and how Kurt handled it. I've always felt like the character Kurt gave the LGBT community a really bad reputation by perpetuating a lot of the stereotypes regarding gay men that exist in our society today. The main steoreotype that I feel like the writers of Glee perpetuated was making Kurt come across as someone who was rather predatory when it came to guys he had feelings for and the writers of Glee made it seem he like he was the type of gay guy who would aggressively pursue anyone who has a penis even if they were straight, namely Finn, but I digress. It'll definitely be interesting to see how Leslie will deal with Ann not being around any more once Rashida Jones leaves the show since Ann is her best friend.

As for my thoughts on Rob Lowe leaving the show, I'm actually probably more upset about him leaving the show than I am about Rashida Jones leaving. That honestly really surprises me considering the fact that I initially wasn't very happy about Rob Lowe joining the cast of Parks and Recreation. He was often one of my least favorite things about Brothers & Sisters, so I was actually really happy when he left the show. His character, Chris Traeger, and his performance on Parks and Recreation is definitely the first time I ever liked Rob Lowe as an actor. Chris ended up becoming one of my favorite characters on Parks and Recreation, so I'm really going to miss having Rob Lowe and the character Chris Traeger around once he leaves the show. Ultimately, my hope is that the writers will give Ann and Chris' storyline with them trying to have a baby together a nice resolution when Rob Lowe and Rashida Jones leave the show in the upcoming sixth season.

Cue a special appearance by Kurt’s pa, Burt! “Blaine is considering marrying Kurt and [I offer] my point of view on that,” Mike O’Malley tells TVLine of his May 2 encore. “I had some beautiful scenes with Darren Criss, who is just turning into such a remarkable actor. Well, turning into, he was – but this year they’ve given him strong, strong material and a really nice, beautiful arc to play. And oftentimes, my scenes with him are triangulated with the presence of Chris Colfer, and in this episode, they’re not. I have one really beautiful scene with just Darren, and I loved it.”

Glee: Preview Kurt, Blaine, Sebastian, Season 4-TVLine

Regardless of how Kurt remains in the Glee picture, the fact is he will be graduating from McKinley High — and that is where Colfer suspects bad boy Sebastian (recurring player Grant Gustin) comes in, as a rumored Season 4 regular.

“Maybe he’ll take Kurt’s place?” Colfer ventured. “[People] are going to hate me for saying that, but it’s just logic.”

Chris Colfer Tells Us All About His "First Time"—and Why Glee's Big Sex Episode Is So Important-E! Online

Is there anything more panic-inducing than (gulp) your first time? How about millions upon millions of people witnessing the event?

OK, so it is just his TV character going all the way in this week's Glee, but Chris Colfer still has every right to be nervous about America witnessing Kurt and Blaine (Darren Criss) lose their virginities to each other. It's the episode everyone has been talking about this season (some crazy reporter even called it a "Glee Sex Riot!"), and it's some of Chris' finest work yet. In part one of our interview with Chris, he gives us an in-depth look at his reaction to getting the storyline, filming a love scene with Darren, and the importance of their characters taking that step...

How did you react when you first found out Kurt and Blaine were going to be taking that big step?
Chris Colfer: Ryan Murphy came up to Darren and I and told us what the next episode was going to be about, and I think both of our eyes got really, really wide and we were like, "Huh? What? Really?" And of course I always freak out and panic about storylines that they tell me are coming up because I always think it's going to be raunchy and over-the-top, but those situations are always handled so well and sensitively and emotionally, and this was no exception.

It was handled really well, and paired up with a West Side Story song made it tear jerking, to say the least!
Oh, good! I'm glad to hear that. Only Glee can make a sex scene tear jerking! [Laughs.]

Obviously fans have been waiting for this episode for a long time. Were you nervous filming an episode that was so feverishly anticipated?
Not really. It's sad but true, but I think I'm just so used to tackling delicate issues, so this was no different than other ones that we've done. It was definitely a big issue, something that I don't believe has really been seen on TV too much before: two gay kids losing their virginities. Well, I'm not sure…did Blaine lose his virginity or was it just Kurt? I can't remember. It was definitely Kurt's. I don't remember that being addressed. Oh, well. [Laughs.] But it's always rewarding doing big storylines.

Like you said, the actual love scene is very understated and simple.
Yeah, I was expecting to being showing some skin but we got there and they wanted Darren in a tank and they wanted me in a shirt, so I don't really have to worry.

 

What a lot of people don't realize is that the actual filming of love scenes is anything but romantic. Can you talk about your experience filming the big moment?
Because it was so simple, it really wasn't that big of a deal. It's so funny, because fans always want to make it out to be this huge thing that it really isn't. When there are 40 middle-aged crewmembers in the room with you, there's nothing romantic about it. It's just like doing any other scene.

Not only is it Kurt and Blaine's first time, it's also Finn and Rachel's first time. Since you're so used to getting these huge, impactful storylines, did Cory and Lea come to you for advice for their part of the episode?
[Laughs.] Oh, no. Nothing like that! I don't know, I don't want to say whose love scene was better or anything, because I don't want to start competition or anything, but you've seen those hetero couples lose their virginity thousands of times. This is the first time you've seen two gay kids lose it to each other.

What are you hoping fans will take away from the episode, especially teenagers that are gay themselves?
Thank you for asking me that. I really hope that if Kurt and Blaine do anything for society or the world or anything like that, I really just hope it kind of sets the standard for gay kids. I don't mean to upset anyone by saying this, but it is just kind of a known fact that a lot of gay kids are very promiscuous and non-exclusive with each other when they have relationships, which is really sad. But I think with Kurt and Blaine, I would hope would set an example of what something should be and could be. You know, two people finding each other and really loving each other and wanting to give the world to each other.

Is there anything else that you would like to see with Kurt and Blaine in the future that could be more of an example for gay teenagers?
Oh gosh, what have we not covered? I don't know, I think we'll just leave that to the writers. They've been coming up with good ideas so far so I don't think I could come up with something else that they could experience together. I think we've covered a lot of ground already.
