When we sat down with the original Original sister, Claire Holt, to talk about her upcoming NBC show Aquarius, we just had to ask if we'll be seeing the original body of Rebekah on the CW show anytime soon. "Yes! They've been really great with Aquarius, in sharing, so I hope I can continue to do both in some capacity," Holt says. "Definitely, when I can, I am going to venture back to that world." And how does she feel about the new Rebekah, played by Maisie Richardon-Sellers? "She's doing a great job. Maybe a little too good," Holt says with a laugh. "I was hoping she wouldn't be so good."

Keep an eye on your mailbox, Anna. “We’ll get the postcards from Kansas, and we’ll for sure see her again, God willing,” executive producer Julie Plec tells TVLine. “I don’t think it’s the last we’ve seen of Rebekah. It was just time for her to say goodbye and drive off into the proverbial sunset.” As for what you can expect from a Rebekah-less New Orleans, Plec says, “The absence of this sister from this family dynamic is going to make the brother dynamic even more fraught.” Wait, more fraught?

She doesn't even know at this point, Claire Holt teases of the Original vamp. "Rebekah wants to be loyal to her family, but struggles. She loves Marcel, but struggles with that relationship," she previews. "I really think it's a confusing time for her and she isn't sure what she wants and she's easily swayed by people, which we will see." Also making matters more difficult? Klaus and Marcel will finally have it out very, very soon.

Ausiello: As EP Julie Plec notes, “Nobody knows the truth” about his resurrection — specifically, that Bonnie essentially sacrificed her life for his. As a result, “There’s going to be some explaining to do and it’s not necessarily going to make his return to his old life very easy.”

Question: Will Claire Holt (Rebekah) appear in any Vampire Diaries episodes next fall? Or is she going straight to The Originals? —Justine
Ausiello: “We do have the ability to use Rebekah on either show in the beginning,” says Plec. ” We will see when we start writing how much of her we’ll see before she heads off to New Orleans.” One scenario has the new season of TVD picking up at the tail end of Rebekah and Matt’s European vacation. “When we get back, we might see [them] still on their trip,” shares Plec, adding, “When Matt gets back to Mystic Falls, his whole world will have changed. The Vampire Diaries: Rebekah related scoop on episode 4x20 "The Originals" and the spin-off from Zap2it's Carina Adly MacKenzie

Here's some scoop on The Vampire Diaries from Carina Adly MacKenzie's Monday Kickstart column for the week of 4/15/13.

"The Vampire Diaries": We're getting closer to the highly anticipated "Originals" episode. If the new spin-off gets picked up, Rebekah will be joining her brothers in New Orleans -- but her role in the April 25 episode is minimal. As you may know, Claire Holt was the last of the Originals to sign on for the new series, and the script had already been completed when she inked her deal. But don't worry, Rebekah fans -- if "The Originals" gets picked up (and we're hearing VERY good things from our CW sources), there are big, big plans in place for her time in New Orleans.

The Vampire Diaries: Season 3 Episode 8 Claire Holt Preview-TVLine

Flashback-crazed The Vampire Diaries is doing the time warp again.

This week’s episode (airing Thursday at 8/7c on The CW) travels back 1,000 years to Viking times and, not surprisingly, the hour promises to be a mythological bonanza.


“There’s going to be a lot revealed about the Original family and where we came from,” previews Claire Holt, who plays the newest Original vamp in Mystic Falls, Rebekah. For those keeping track at home, the clan also includes blonde, bad boy brother Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and dearly missed Elijah (Daniel Gillies, who returns in this week’s episode). We’ll also meet the Original mother, the powerful Esther (Alice Evans).

“You get to see how [Rebekah] interacts with her family and what it was like back then,” continues Holt, who says the episode sheds light on “how her relationship with her brothers and how her relationship with Klaus developed. [You'll see] why they became so close and why they are so loyal to each other.”

Perhaps it has something to do with Mikael, the big bad vampire that sends daggers of terror through even Klaus. “You’ll learn that there’s a very good reason why they’re afraid of him,” teases Holt. “It has a lot to do with their history and why they are the way they are… He’s definitely a threat to them.”
