The Originals: Elijah related scoop on episode 5x03 from TVLine's Michael Ausiello

https://pmctvline2.files.wordpress.com/2018/01/slack-imgs2.jpg

Here's some scoop on The Originals from this week's (Posted on 1/31/18) Ask Ausiello column.

Question: I hear we’re getting a big Elijah episode at the beginning of The Originals Season 5. What can we expect? –Julie
Ausiello: You’re correct, Julie. Episode 503 zeroes in on Elijah’s new life in France, and while Daniel Gillies can’t say too much about what goes down, he confirms that it doesn’t take his character very long to “figure out he’s not a regular person.” (Don’t forget, Marcel wiped his memories at the end of Season 4.) As for the quality of the episode, which was directed by castmate Joseph Morgan, Gillies says, “I think it’s one of the best episodes we’ve ever done. I’m actually amazed that it made it through — it was such a change of pace from what we normally do.”

The Originals: Scoop on the possibility of Elijah and Hayley getting back together in season 5 from TVLine's Matt Webb Mitovich

https://pmctvline2.files.wordpress.com/2017/03/the-originals-spoilers2.jpg?w=620

Here's some scoop on The Originals from this week's (Posted on 1/2/18) Matt's Inside Line column.

Is there any hope for The Originals‘ Elijah and Hayley to get back together? –Tulsi
Never say never — especially on a show like The Originals, where literally anything can happen — but it doesn’t sound like Elijah and Hayley will be reuniting anytime soon. Series creator Julie Plec says she enjoyed getting to craft new beginnings for the show’s characters in Season 5 now that they’ve all had to go their separate ways. “Being able to write a narrative for Elijah that allowed him to live an entirely different life and imagining what that life would look like was a lot of fun,” she says, promising “a whole bunch of new dynamics” to come. (The recent casting of Jaime Murray as Elijah’s new vampire “friend” also doesn’t bode well for your question.)

The Originals: Scoop on the season 5 villain from TVLine's Michael Ausiello

Here's some scoop on The Originals from this week's (Posted on 12/13/17) Ask Ausiello column.

Question: I feel like we know a lot about The Originals’ fifth season… except for the Big Bad. Who is the Mikaelsons’ final enemy? —Karen
Ausiello: Well, that and a premiere date, am I right? Anyway, executive producer Julie Plec explains that while last season’s baddie — remember the Hollow? — will remain a present force in Season 5, the real enemy is far more complicated. “The Big Bad this year is launched from an ideology more so than one singular person’s nefarious desire,” Plec explains. “It’s an ideology that was spawned almost a century ago, a movement that has been simmering and stewing over that century. It does have a personal connection to the Mikaelson family, but it also has a thematic resonance that is very timely.”

The Originals: Scoop on the possibility of characters from The Vampire Diaries appearing on the show in season 5 from Entertainment Weekly's Natalie Abrams

Here's some scoop on The Originals from Entertainment Weekly's Natalie Abrams' The Spoiler Room column, which was posted on 11/2/17.

During season 5 of The Originals, can we expect the appearance of some other characters from The Vampire Diaries? — Ines
I’m hearing the final season is going to be more focused on the Mikaelson family, so it’s less about crossovers, per se. While we will definitely see both Caroline and Dorian from TVD, in keeping with the theme of family, you should also expect to see Rebekah and Kol return.

The Originals: Casting related scoop on season 5 from TVLine's Matt Webb Mitovich

Here's some scoop on The Originals from this week's (Posted on 10/26/17) Matt's Inside Line column.

Do you know anything about The Originals Season 5? Any more characters coming back? –Joey
I can’t confirm any returning favorites right now, but the show is introducing a new character that sounds an awful lot like The Vampire Diaries’ Matt Donovan. The newbie’s name is Landon, and he’s described as a thoughtful, romantic kid desperate to escape his broken home and the small southern town in which it stands. Despite being human, Landon apparently has a shady past — and investigating it could lead him into the dangerous world of the supernatural. And Landon isn’t appearing until close to to the end of the show’s final season, so with that Hope-centric spinoff still on the table, it’s entirely possible that Landon’s story won’t finish on The Originals.

The Originals: Casting scoop on season 5 from TVLine's Michael Ausiello

http://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/vampirediaries/images/f/f3/The_Originals_Title_Card.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20131005135124

Here's some scoop on The Originals from this week's (Posted on 8/2/17) Ask Ausiello column.

Question: Julie Plec mentioned in TVLine’s Comic-Con interview that Hayley is getting a new man in The Originals’ final season. Any more details? —Steve
Ausiello:
I can’t say for sure whether this is the man in question, but the show is currently casting the role of Declan, a “flirtatious” Irish chef with a hot temper to match his killer charm. Like most humans on the show, he starts out with no knowledge of New Orleans’ supernatural shenanigans — until he’s introduced to a famous vampire family by the woman he loves.
Question: I’ll take anything from The Originals’ final season. Like, anything. —Charlotte
Ausiello:
I think this qualifies as “like, anything”: Season 5 will introduce viewers to Antoinette, a free-spirited “old-school vampire” whose charm and wit mask her dark history. (Gee, are we sure she isn’t related to the Mikaelsons?)

Question: Desperate for some Originals scoop! What do you have?! — Chloe
Ausiello: It’s not exactly earth-shattering, Chloe, but let’s see if this at least makes things rumble: The CW drama’s fifth season will introduce a “calculating” vampire (aren’t they all?) named Margot, whose glory days trace all the way back to 1920s Europe. Two things you should know about Margot: She recently moved to New Orleans, and she has an “almost zealous devotion to her family.” Sounds like she’ll fit in just fine.
