Here's some scoop on The Night Shift from this week's (Posted on 2/16/15) Matt's Inside Line column.

Is Daniella Alonso return to The Night Shift? Her character is my favourite but I don’t see her in any Season 2 promo or poster. –Ivan
Sorry, Ivan, but Alonso/Dr. Landry De La Cruz will not be a part of the NBC medical drama when it returns on Monday, Feb. 23 at 10/9c.

Revolution: Daniella Alonso Joins Cast as Rebel Fighter-TVLine

According to TVLine's Matt Webb Mitovich and Kimberly Roots, Daniella Alonso is joining the cast of NBC's upcoming new TV series, Revolution. Here's an excerpt from the article, which gives some information on the show and some scoop on Alonso's role:

Executive-produced by J.J. Abrams (Lost) and writer Eric Kripke (Supernatural), Revolution presents a scenario in which all of the power in the world mysteriously shuts off, and civilization begins to fall. Picking up 15 years after the catastrophe, the series follows a band of survivors trying to evade a ruthless militia unit that wants to get the current flowing again, though for the wrong reasons — meaning, to watch Jersey Shore?

Alonso, whose TV credits include One Tree Hill and Friday Night Lights, will play Nora, a character described by series creator Kripke as “a rebel fighter battling against the militia that controls North America. And she’s got a lot of rough water under the bridge with Miles, Billy Burke’s character. And she likes to blow stuff up.”

My thoughts: I have to say that I'm really looking forward to this show. Revolution sounds like a very interesting show, but given the fact that heavily serialized and mythology based shows, such as ABC's FlashForward and NBC's The Event, haven't done very well in recent years, I'm worried that it's not going to do well. Hopefully, Revolution will be able to break that trend.

Covert Affairs Exclusive: Will Daniella Alonso Get Inside Auggie’s Head?-TVLine

According to TVLine's Matt Webb Mitovich, Daniella Alonso has been cast in a recurring guest-star role for season three of Covert Affairs. She'll be playing a therapist for the CIA. Here's an excerpt from the article, which gives some more details on Alonso's role as well as some additional casting news for season 3:

Alonso’s character, Suzanne Wilkins, is described as a stylish and self-possessed shrink who is willing to bend the rules or try alternatives to traditional psychotherapy if it will best serve her patients.

Who exactly will be reclining on Dr. Wilkins’ couch? Maybe Auggie will need some counsel if his bid to unite with Parker in Eritrea doesn’t go well? ”She’ll be making her way around the DPD (Domestic Protection Division),” teases a USA rep.

Also on tap for Season 3 of the spy drama, premiering this summer: 24 alum Rena Sofer will reprise her role as Arthur’s ex-wife, Gina, in one episode, TVLine has learned, while Rebecca Creskoff (Justified) will recur as a veteran CIA operative who becomes Annie’s new mentor, TVGuide.com reports.
