The Walking Dead: The Governor related scoop on season 4 from TVLine's Michael Ausiello

Here's some scoop on The Walking Dead from this week's (Posted on 7/23/13) Ask Ausiello column.

Question: The new Walking Dead trailer looks crazy good, but it was decidedly Governor-lite.  How big a presence will David Morrissey have in Season 4? —Cris
Ausiello: Well, I can tell you that he’ll have a major presence in at least two Season 4 episodes, both of which are being unofficially billed as ”standalone Governor” installments. No specific intel on when those episodes will air, but I hear they’ll likely fall in the first chunk of eight (premiering Sunday, Oct. 13).

The Walking Dead: The Governor related scoop and casting related scoop on season 4 from TVLine's Michael Ausiello

Here's some scoop on The Walking Dead from this week's (Posted on 7/2/13) Ask Ausiello column.

Question: Is there any chance there will be flashbacks showing the Governor’s origin story on The Walking Dead? And if so, might Milton make an appearance? I’m really heartbroken over his death. — Jessenika
Ausiello: The Governor’s origin story, which I imagine would have to include his former ally Milt, seems like a golden story opportunity for new showrunner Scott Gimple — especially since David Morrissey is back as a regular in Season 4. But I honestly have no idea if it’s in the cards. The show could just as easily wind up being too busy with new recurring characters like Laura, a single mom and ex-nurse who isn’t quite as strong as she first appears; Melody, a “just one of the guys” kinda gal in her 20s; and Don, who sounds like Hershel, if Hershel were crankier and two-legged. (BTW, did you see this?)

The Walking Dead: Casts David Morrissey in Season 3-TVLine

According to TVLine's Michael Ausiello, David Morrissey has been cast as a foil to Rick in season 3. Here's an excerpt from the article, which gives some details regarding Morrissey's role:

The British actor (State of Play, Meadowlands) will play The Governor, the leader of a new settlement of survivors that clashes with Rick.

The character originated in exec producer Robert Kirkman’s WD graphic novel.

Morrissey will make his first appearance at the start of the show’s third season, which begins production this spring in Atlanta.
