Here's some scoop on The Good Fight from this week's (Posted on 4/26/17) Ask Ausiello column.

Question: Does the fact that Diane and Kurt got back together in the Good Fight finale mean that we’ll be seeing more of Gary Cole in Season 2? —Robert
Ausiello: “That is such a good question for the showrunners of Veep,” exec producer Michelle King hedged with a chuckle when I posed your question to her. The good news? As fellow EP Robert King notes, “He was doing Veep while we shot Season 1 and we were able to skirt around that and use him when we could. So we’re intent on making that work again.”

Here's some scoop on The Good Wife from Kristin Dos Santos' Spoiler Chat column, which was posted on 4/21/15.

Irene: Diane Lockhart gives me life on The Good Wife. Will Gary Cole be back as Diane's husband before the season ends?
Sorry, he won't be back this year. However, Gary Cole did spill to us that he assume he'll be back next year. "I usually show up there once a year. I made my visit this year and I assume they'll be back, you never know, but it seems like they'll be back for another year, " he says. "So hopefully I'll visit my marriage once."

The Good Wife: Scoop on Gary Cole's return in episode 6x15 "Open Source" and more from TVLine's Michael Ausiello

Ask Ausiello

Here's some scoop on The Good Wife from this week's (Posted on 3/10/15) Ask Ausiello column.

Question: What’s going on with Taye Diggs on The Good Wife? I was all excited about his casting and he has just disappeared. What gives? —Bonnie
Ausiello: EP Robert King confirms that Diggs’ legal eagle Dean is still employed at Florrick-Agos-Lockhart, although the actor’s starring role on TNT’s Murder in the First has made the character a scarce presence. “It always comes down to their schedules,” laments King. “But we love Taye Diggs.” (In other Good Wife MIA matters, here’s the skinny on where Robyn’s been.)

Question: I was happy to read that Gary Cole is headed back to The Good Wife as Diane’s hubby. Any scoop? —Tarik
Ausiello: He returns this Sunday for the first of several episodes, during which the couple will “go on a surprising tangent,” teases Christine Baranski. “We go out hunting together, and I meet up with a Republican billionaire [played by Oliver Platt].” The actress adds that the ideologically opposed duo will once again run up against some conflict. “It’s so great to see that two people can be married and disagree politically,” she says, “and have a political discourse that doesn’t derail the relationship.”

The Good Wife: Scoop on the possibility of Gary Cole and Martha Plimpton returning to the show from E! Online's Kristin Dos Santos

Gary Cole Actor Gary Cole attends the premiere of HBO's 'Veep' 3rd Season at Paramount Studios on March 24, 2014 in Hollywood, California.

Here's some scoop on The Good Wife from Kristin Dos Santos' Spoiler Chat column, which was posted on 9/30/14.

Nikkiii0818: Any plans to have Gary Cole return this season as Mr. Lockhart?
We got so many questions about Gary Cole and Martha Plimpton returning to The Good Wife this year, we went straight to the top and Robert and Michelle King, The Good Wife co-creators, who said they would like to get them back. "Unfortunately, with those actors it comes down to availability," Michelle tells us. "Between Veep for Gary Cole and the fact that Martha Plimpton has been in a play in London, it just makes it tricky. But nothing would make us happier to see them again." Robert added, "We tried to get her for the first half of the season, but she was in London in a play and now she's in one locally, but when that gets out of previews and we can count on it, we'd love to have her back. And Gary Cole, obviously we always enjoy." For now you can look forward to Carrie Preston returning to The Good Wife as Elsbeth Tascioni for at least two episodes.

The Good Wife: Scoop on the possibility of Gary Cole returning to the show from E! Online's Kristin Dos Santos

Here's some scoop on The Good Wife from Kristin Dos Santos' Spoiler Chat column, which was posted on 4/30/14.

Vanessa: I love Diane on The Good Wife. She's everything I want to be when I grow up.  But I keep forgetting she's married! Will we see her husband again?
Christine Baranski sure hopes we so—and so do we! Gary Cole, who plays Diane's husband Kurt, also stars on Veep. We saw a bit of their home life, but then, you know, stuff hit the fan. "Gary went off to shoot Veep, but that notwithstanding, for the rest of the season, what happened didn't lend itself to seeing much of Diane's personal life, but it always interests people," Baranski told us. "That relationship is interesting to people, that she's with this guy, and he's such a wonderful actor. I'm certain next season they will have him back when they can have him back."

Suits: Scoop on the season 3 flashback episode and scoop on the season 3 premiere from TVLine's Matt Webb Mitovich

Here's some scoop on Suits from TVLine's Matt Webb Mitovich's weekly column Matt's Inside Line for the week of 5/23/13.

Got any Castle or Suits scoop to help me through finals? –Christina
Suits up! At the USA Network upfront event, I asked Gabriel Macht what sets the stage for the new season’s flashback episode, which dives 10 years into the past. “The DA played by Gary Cole in the first season is brought back, so we’re going to see the origin episode of why Harvey left the DA’s office,” he shared. And what surprised him most about this latest bit of time travel? “It was interesting to find out where Harvey gets the value of not sleeping with the people he works with.” On a related note, Macht says the issue of where “Scottie” (played by Abigail Spencer) lands – New York or London – “is explained in the premiere, [airing July 16], so she’s back for that episode.”

Hart of Dixie Casts Gary Cole as Zoe's Father-TVLine

Zoe Hart’s daddy issues will be moving front and center during the second half of Hart of Dixie‘s rookie season.

We know this because TVLine has learned exclusively that acting vet Gary Cole is joining the CW charmer as the superstar surgeon whom Rachel Bilson’s character was raised to believe was her father.

Cole, who in recent years has recurred on Desperate Housewives, Entourage and Chuck, is booked to appear in at least two episodes.

Zoe’s dad grew distant from her when she was young after learning that he wasn’t her biological father — something Zoe herself only recently discovered (and after pinning her hopes on one day joining his esteemed medical practice). As a result, their reunion is sure to be a bittersweet one.

Suits Preview: Blasts from the Past Leave Harvey Feeling 'A Lot of Loss'-TVLine

This Thursday on the penultimate freshman episode of Suits (USA Network, 10/9c), legal eagle Harvey Spector receives two blasts from his past, when Gary Cole (Office Space) and Alicia Coppola (Jericho) guest-star as his former boss and a onetime colleague who are now respectively angling to hide and expose a dark, years-old truth.

Cole plays Cameron Dennis, a Manhattan District Attorney for whom Harvey served as an assistant back in the day — before he quit. “Basically, he was my initial mentor,” series lead Gabriel Macht tells TVLine. “The way Mike (played by Patrick J. Adams) has Harvey, he was Harvey’s Harvey.”

Alas, heroes are sometimes meant to fall, and when Cameron reenters Harvey’s orbit, it’s to ask for his complicity in keeping a past transgression under wraps as he seeks reelection.

“There’s some dirt that is picked up on about Gary Cole’s character, and he comes back to me to try and keep it behind closed doors,” says Macht. But in finally coming forward to loop Harvey in, “There is a lot of loss when I find out that he wasnt above board.”

Concurrently with Harvey’s rude awakening, Coppola’s character — now employed by the Attorney General — approaches her former colleague looking to get confirmation of Cameron’s buzzed-about, and potentially damning lapse in ethics.

“She’s trying to end his reelection [bid], so she’s trying get me to open up about him,” says Macht.

What exactly is it that Cole’s DA did back in the day that now has his election campaign running scared, and Coppola’s character out for blood? Not wanting to divulge to much, Macht says, “I guess I can put it this way: He buried some evidence in regards to a certain character that you’ll meet at some point, and I was unaware of it [at the time]. And as that relationship is investigated, and you’ll see how Harvey’s mentor sort of let him down.”
