Revolution: Scoop on Neville's storyline from TVLine's Matt Webb Mitovich

Here's some scoop on Revolution from this week's (Posted on 11/1/13) Matt's Inside Line column.

Will Revolution’s Neville and Jason ever join up with the other group? –Dan
When I ran that Q by Elizabeth Mitchell, she didn’t indicate it would happen anytime soon. “Neville is on his own adventure right now, and its about to get really hot, which I really like,” she shared. Besides, with him fighting the Patriots on a different front, “For all intents and purposes, he’s our best hope right now.”

Revolution: Neville related scoop on the season 1 finale (Episode 1x20 "The Dark Tower") from TVLine's Michael Ausiello

Here's some scoop on Revolution from this week's (Posted on 5/15/13) Ask Ausiello column.

Question: Please tell me you got some Revolution scoop out of the NBC upfront. Something, anything? — Kyle
Ausiello: Not only did Matt Mitovich score you some scoop, he scored it directly from Giancarlo Esposito, who told him, through the finale, “Tom’s next move is to try and cover his own butt, first. But also, there is a race to figure out who really is in control of the power. The final episode will blow your mind in terms of all of the elements coming together, and some questions you haven’t even thought of asking will be answered.” Which bodes well for a future edition of Questions You Never Even Thought To Ask Ausiello.

Once Upon a Time: Scoop on the possibility of Giancarlo Esposito returning and casting related scoop from TVLine's Michael Ausiello

Here's some scoop on Once Upon a Time from this week's (Posted on 1/29/13) Ask Ausiello column.

Question: I’m loving Once Upon a Time this season, but will we ever see Sidney Glass (Giancarlo Esposito) again? He’s been locked in that underground cell for months! —Dan R.
Ausiello: The man you seeketh — Esposito, not Glass — is a wee bit busy these days as a series regular on Revolution. (Don’t feel too embarrassed for forgetting — NBC’s blackout hit has been hibernating since Nov. 26 and won’t return till March.) I do, however, have some consolation Once scoop for you. Producers are casting a role enigmatically known as The Healer. He’s described as being an Asian male in his late 50s or 60s, a powerful and revered figure known for helping folks in terrible trouble. As you might expect from this mystical type of character, he’s known to fancy a flowery turn of phrase, and doleth out cryptic descriptions does he. (See what I did there?) Deep down, though, The Healer is deeply moral, he knows right from wrong and understands that his great powers come with great responsibilities. Now we’ll just have to see if one of those responsibilities will be helping Mulan revive the cursed Phillip when this healer pops up in Episode 18.

Revolution: Scoop on the future of the show from Entertainment Weekly's Sandra Gonzalez

Here's some scoop on Revolution from Entertainment Weekly's Sandra Gonzalez's The Spoiler Room column, which was posted on 10/1/12.

Hi Sandra! Revolution is my favorite new show so far. Anything to share? — Kyle
Nothing super juicy — but I do have a plea from Giancarlo Esposito so passionate that I’d be remiss not to share. “People should really stick with it as the story gets better and better and the plot of what happens is well thought out, and there’s a big grand plan that I think is really rewarding,” he says. “So don’t get scared off by the type of big arc, please. Stick with it. It is worth it.” And it sounds like you (and a few million of your friends) are right on track, Kyle.

Once Upon a Time: Sidney related scoop on season 2 from TVLine's Matt Webb Mitovich

Here's some scoop on Once Upon a Time from TVLine's Matt Webb Mitovich's weekly column Matt's Inside Line for the week of 5/17/12.

Once Upon a Time | Now that magic has come to Storybrooke, will the Evil Queen be in need of her magic mirror? Because he might be a little busy given that Giancarlo Esposito (who also played Sidney Glass) is now a cast member on NBC’s Revolution. But in a pinch, “I think I can [pop up on Once],” the onetime Breaking Bad guy tells me. “And I would love to be able to do that. I am so happy about their pickup, because it’s a show my kids can watch! So you know I’m going to be trying to go back and forth.”

'Once Upon a Time's' Giancarlo Esposito on the Magic Mirror and Evil Queen's 'interesting relationship'-From Inside the Box-Zap2it

giancarlo-esposito-once-upo.jpg"Once Upon a Time" is introducing a new character in Sunday night's (Oct. 30) episode - the Magic Mirror, played by Giancarlo Esposito ("Law & Order," "Breaking Bad"). He tells Zap2it how he's working to make his dual characters very different and teases what's to come for Emma Swan.

"The Magic Mirror is a character who is under the Evil Queen's thumb. He tells her the truth but in a very interesting, snide and challenging way because she can't hurt him anymore," says Esposito. "You don't really know how he got in the mirror, but you know that that is his world that is inescapable for him. He's able to have attitude wtih the Evil Queen where no one else can."

We're sure the Evil Queen, played by Lana Parrilla, really appreciates that. But Parrilla's Mayor definitely does not have the same type of relationship with Esposito's Storeybrooke character.

"In Storybrooke, I play Sidney, who is the editor of the newspaper and knows everyone in town, he's quite affable," says Esposito. "A little bumbling once awhile because he gets nervous when he's around the Mayor. She's obviously very forceful, very powerful and a little threatening."

"I wanted to make the characters very, very different. One having a sense of bravado and the other having a sense of vulnerability," he continues. "Sidney's a lot more controlled by the Mayor than the Magic Mirror is by the Evil Queen. The Magic Mirror has the ability to tell her what she doesn't want to hear and challenge her. He eggs her on and moves her toward a fight and there's nothing she can do about it. She could do a few things, but she really can't stop the mirror because she confides in it. It's a very interesting relationship that they have."

We hope to find out eventually how the fairtytale character became trapped in the mirror and Esposito teases that we hopefully won't have to wait too long.

"I do think we're going to get to that and more than likely we're going to get to that very soon," he says.

And something else he teases for us that Sidney the newspaper editor and Emma Swan may not be getting along in Storybrooke.

"I don't want to give away too much of the story of what's to come. Sidney's very affable, but he does get put up to do something by the Mayor that he has to do and he starts to bump heads with Emma Swan," says Esposito.

We can't wait to see it. "Once Upon a Time" airs Sunday nights at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
