Nothing good, I can promise you that. “It does appear like she’s got some red leaves,” EP Terry Matalas says. “That’s some bad news. The stakes are raised this season. We set it up last season that the plague was only part of the plan. The Army of the 12 Monkeys seems to be connected to the way time works and they have their own agenda, and the red forest is a part of it, and it’s not something we want to happen to all of space and time.” Ruh-roh.

Jeaneen: Cannot believe Victoria Grayson is dead on Revenge! Will Charlotte come back to the Hamptons after she finds out?
Christa B. Allen will definitely be returning, but won't be sharing any scenes with Madeleine Stowe, even in flashbacks. "I unfortunately didn't get to work with Christa," Stowe tells us. But when asked if we could possibly be seeing any other returns before season's end, Stowe teases, "There will be surprises, for sure."

Pack your bags Hamptonites because we're going back to visit our favorite revenge-loving characters. Season three will pick up a few months from when we last saw Victoria's long-lost son appear on her doorstop, shocking her enough to drop her glass. However, Madeleine Stowe tells us that she and her son Patrick, played by Smallville hunk Justin Hartley, have developed a "very close relationship" over these past months together, and Daniel is not happy about it one bit. "She's not trying to make him crazy, but she really wants to have a good clean honest relationship. But of course this is Revenge, so something terrible is going to happen," she says. Patrick is the result of a pedophiliac relationship Victoria went through when she was around 15 years-old and it looks like these circumstances have affected her son's psyche. "He deeply deeply loves his mother and will do anything to take her side," Stowe says, "I've been given hints and it's quite dark." Yikes!

Revenge: Season 2 Spoilers on Victoria and The Initiative-TVLine

Here's an article by TVLine's Megan Masters, which gives some scoop on the rest of Revenge's second season directly from the creator of the show, Mike Kelley. In the article, Kelley talks about his plans to solidify Victoria as the main villain on the show. He also talks about his plans to clarify The Initiative's role in the show, while also once again emphasizing the idea that the show is supposed to be about Emily and her quest for getting revenge on the people that ruined hers' and her father's lives. Here's an excerpt from the article:

“My big goal [for the rest of] this season is to reset the revenge element between Emily and Victoria, and to really solidify Victoria as our villain once again,” creator Mike Kelley shares with TVLine. “She’s quite gray in a lot of ways this year. She’s evolving, which is good, but when her back is truly against a wall, she’s capable of some pretty terrible things.”

And terrible things we’ll see throughout this latest batch of episodes, which find “Emily and Victoria forced to work together for their own purposes — even [as they are] keeping secrets from one another,” Kelley previews. Ultimately, he adds: “Everything we’re [currently] doing between the two of them is leading toward greater conflict in order to reset and refuel the series for some time to come.”

Also receiving a slight tweak in the second half of Revenge‘s sophomore run is the increasingly twisty — and at times convoluted — Initiative plot. Kelley is firm in his belief that there “needs to be a heavy, dark force” on Revenge — which this evil corporation (?) no doubt is — yet concedes that “the show was never meant to be about a grand conspiracy in Alias or Homeland terms. It’s a smaller story about a girl out for vengeance to get the people who killed her father. What she really needs is the identities of those people and she’s going do anything she can to get them; that’s what her goal is here.”

Which means that the focus of the show will now be to “make sure that [The Initiative] is not as nebulous; that we understand, specifically, what they’re doing as it unfolds, as well as how it involves Nolan, Padma, Aiden, Daniel and everybody… It will tie everyone together.

My thoughts: I have to say that I'm very pleased with what Mike Kelley has to say about his plans for the rest of Revenge's second season and the series as a whole. While I don't hate the whole thing with The Initiative, I definitely enjoyed the show the most when it was focused primarily on Emily's plan for getting revenge on everybody who was involved with framing her father for a crime he didn't commit before The Initiative was introduced. Personally, I think if the writers want to have The Initiative continue to be a part of the show, then they should have that be secondary to Emily's plan for revenge instead of having it become a major part of the show. Like Mike Kelley said, this isn't Alias or Homeland, it's Revenge, a show about a girl seeking revenge/justice for what was done to her and her father, not a show about a massive conspiracy.

That being said, I'm glad that Mike Kelley is planning to make Victoria the show's primary villain rather than act like The Initiative and the people who work for the organization are supposed to be the main antagonist of the show. I really feel like by solidifying Victoria as the main villain of the show, it will really help Revenge get back to its' roots and what the show was like when it started, Although, a part of me is worried that by doing that the writers run the risk of making Victoria too unlikable and not a character that people can feel sympathetic towards. Fortunately, I feel like the writers have already done a pretty good job of striking enough balance between having all of the characters on the show do questionable things while also being characters that are sympathetic and that viewers like, so I'm not too worried about that.

Revenge: Oh my god! Mason knows the truth about Emily! Is the jig up for Emily? (My thoughts on episode 2x07 “Penance”)

Let me start off by saying that I don’t think that this was one of the best episodes of Revenge, but as I’ve mentioned before there’s never been an episode of Revenge that I’ve hated. Even when I’ve found an episode of Revenge to be somewhat disappointing, I’ve still always enjoyed it to a certain degree, and that’s definitely the case with this episode. Let me preface this post by saying that most of what I have to say in this post has more to do with the show as a whole and the first seven episodes of season two than just this episode alone.

One of the things that I enjoyed the most about this episode is the role the theme of penance played in the episode. I’ve always liked Emily’s narrations on the show, but I especially enjoyed the narrations at the beginning and the end of this episode. I thought the dialogue for both narrations was very well written, and I like the visuals that they used for them as well.

One of my least favorite things about this episode was definitely Jack and Amanda’s storyline with them making plans for their wedding. For the most part, I’m loving season two just as much as I enjoyed season one, but if there’s one thing that I haven’t enjoyed about this season it would definitely be Jack and Amanda’s storylines because they have often been the one thing about each episode of season two that I haven’t liked. I’ve just found both Jack and Amanda very boring this year. Plus, I find the character Amanda extremely annoying, and I hate Margarita Levieva as an actress. I just think she’s a terrible, terrible, terrible actress, and I hope they wrap Amanda’s storyline up sooner rather than later, so Margarita can hopefully leave the show once and for all.

Kenny and his brother Nate seem to have partial ownership of all the boats at the dock, including the Amanda, now that they are financially involved with Jack’s bar which makes me wonder if they will end up playing a role in the Amanda sinking, which we saw at bottom of the ocean in the season premiere. I’ll talk a little bit more about some other theories I have regarding the flash-forward in the season two premiere later in this post.

Kara’s behavior continues to puzzle the hell out of me, and I’m still trying to figure out what the deal is with her. They made it clear in earlier episodes that she was on medication for mental illness, so my guess as to what the deal is with Kara is that perhaps Gordon Murphy was the one who made sure that Kara always took her medication, but I’m guessing that Kara hasn’t been taking her medication since before he died, and without medication she’s become somewhat mousy and lethargic. I’m inclined to believe that Kara’s behavior is supposed to seem weird and that it’s supposed to be attributed to her mental illness given Victoria’s reaction whenever Kara shows up very quietly and she didn’t realize she was around. Victoria seems to be at least a little afraid of her, and I don’t blame her being afraid of Kara, especially after everything that happened in this episode with Kara holding both her and Conrad hostage. Although, I suppose it’s possible it’s not the writers’ intention for Kara to come across as acting weird and Kara’s behavior simply seems weird due to Jennifer Jason Leigh’s acting choices. Regardless of whoever is deciding how Kara should act, her behavior still puzzles the hell out of me.

Revenge: Madeleine Stowe on Wedding and Death Spoilers-TVLine

Here's some scoop that Madeleine Stowe gave TVLine's Megan Masters on what's coming on Revenge.

WEDDED BLISS(LESS) | When pressed about Jack and Amanda’s impending nautical nuptials, Stowe reveals only that, “There will be a wedding.” There will also be “at least one death,” though she believes “a couple” is a more accurate guesstimate, adding: “We’ll see who gets blamed for it.”

SHIPWRECKED | As Revenge‘s Season 2 premiere teased, the Amanda is headed for a watery grave — as is whomever’s aboard the vessel at the time of its demise. Shares Stowe, “I sort of know who’s on it — but there might be more than one person. I think [creator] Mike [Kelley] is actually still deciding.” We’re thinking that perhaps the boat, carrying countless Hamptonites, goes down before/during/after Jack and Amanda tie the knot. And assuming that is the case, Victoria must be safe… because she’d never be caught dead as such a low-class event, right? “Not necessarily!” a coy Stowe teases.

 THE INITIATIVE INITIATES | Americon Initiative might want to think twice about its big, bad plot — because Victoria is determined to put a halt to it. “Victoria wants to take down the initiative,” Stowe tells TVLine, but her mission won’t be a simple one. “It’s going to be a slowly evolving thing from now until the end of the season. I don’t know how long Mike is going to run that storyline. But [the initiative] is definitely getting a hold of Daniel [through Grayson Global], and that brings out Victoria’s killer instinct. That’s all I can tell you; they’re getting their hands on [her] son, which enrages [her]."

'Revenge' Season 2: Charlotte is Back, Daniel Has a New Lady...But Where is Madeleine Stowe? | Hollywood.com

Here's an article by Hollywood.com's Shaunna Murphy, which gives some scoop on season 2 of Revenge straight from Gabriel Mann. In the article, Mann talks about the fact that Madeleine Stowe hasn't been saying anything about season 2 and that she hasn't been seen on the set of Revenge yet this season. Mann talks about how the structure of the first part of season 2 will be similar to the format of the first half of season 1. He also gives some scoop on Emily's love life and Nolan's friendship with Jack. Here's an excerpt from the article where Gabriel Mann talks about how Madeleine Stowe hasn't been seen on the set of Revenge yet this season:





"We don't know much at this point," Mann said. "I'm friends with Madeline, but she's not saying anything. She hasn't been around; we haven't seen her. That's about as much as we know at this point. It will definitely change the dynamic of the show if she isn't actively involved in the Revenge-y things going on. But [creator] Mike Kelley is the mayor of Flashback City."

Say it ain't so! Something tells us the matriarch of the Grayson family will somehow survive the season finale's fiery plane crash, but no one's talking. And though Allen wouldn't tell us exactly how Charlotte will fare after her suicide attempt, the fact that she alluded to some kind of future for her character makes it pretty obvious that Charlotte will survive. "Well, I'm around," she teased. "It could be a coma." Thankfully, people can come out of comas, and Allen said that Charlotte will have some serious Grayson family problems to tackle. "She's still struggles a bit," Allen said. "But [her plot] spirals into her family, and how they treat her. I think she's going to end up on a good path, but she's going to have more obstacles to deal with beyond her own demons."

My thoughts: It wasn't until this week that I started to realize how odd it is that there haven't been any spoilers for season 2 released that involve Victoria, and it started to make me worry that perhaps the writers were planning to have Victoria die in the plane explosion that happened in the season 1 finale. Reading this article has really made me worry that might indeed the case. I hope to god that's not true though, because Victoria is one of my top favorite characters on the show. Madeleine Stowe and the feud between Emily and Victoria are a huge part of what's made the show so popular and successful, so killing Victoria off the show would definitely be the death of Revenge.

Revenge: Season 1 Finale Preview--Madeleine Stowe-TVLine

In the article, Stowe gives a preview of what will be going on with Victoria in the season finale. She also reveals that there will be several deaths in the season finale. Here's an excerpt from the article, which gives some scoop on the season finale:



“[Series creator] Mike Kelly and I have discussed a long backstory for Victoria that would eventually make you understand her damage,” she tells TVLine. Provided, that is, Victoria even makes it out of this week’s season finale alive.

“There is a lot to tease,” Stowe says of the season-ender airing Wednesday at 10/9c. For one, “Emily is realizing there’s a larger conspiracy [behind David's framing] that the Graysons have a been a part of.” Along those lines — and circling back to Victoria’s role in the cover-up — “One of the big things that happens is Victoria is hell-bent on redeeming her actions and herself. She can’t stand the lies anymore.”

But while that is a noble endeavor, Victoria’s bid to clear her conscience “leads to a game of cat-and-mouse and ends in a very explosive event – literally explosive – that has terrible ramifications for the family,” Stowe reveals.

Stowe confirms that the finale uncorks not one death “but actually several,” though we’d have to imagine a scene-stealer such as herself is a keeper for Season 2.

“I can’t say too much,” Stowe hedges, “but the season finale is a bit of a stunner in terms of Victoria’s fate.”
