As previously reported, Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Grey’s, Supernatural) guest-stars in the April 6 finale as Fiona’s NA sponsor of sorts. He also happens to be her boss at the diner she must work, as a condition of her probation. “Her probation officer, played by Regina King, is an old friend of Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s [character],” Emmy Rossum explains, “and she’s funneled to him these people that are out of jail, to put them in NA.”

Southland: Season 4 Episode 6 Regina King Preview-TVLine

Here's an interview that Regina King did with TVLine's Vlada Gelman about tonight's episode as well as what's going to happening with her character, Lydia, throughout the rest of season four. Here's an excerpt from the article, which gives some scoop on tonight's episode:


TVLINE | What’s going on in this week’s episode?
Lydia actually ends up having to go back on patrol because of certain circumstances that leave them short of personnel in this station. She’s the only person that’s crossed trained. It forces her to have to be a field sergeant on patrol. We also see that Tang and Cooper have a camera crew that’s following them that’s doing an expose on the LAPD, so you see how they navigate that. Of course, with both of those storylines, some things occur as they do in the southland. This Tuesday’s episode is probably one of our highest-stake episodes. … It’s exciting. It’s scary. It’s emotional. There’s a lot of stuff going on.
