NCIS: Scoop on the possibility of Robert Wagner returning to the show from TVLine's Matt Webb Mitovich

Here's some scoop on NCIS from this week's (Posted on 12/17/14) Matt's Inside Line column.

I missed seeing DiNozzo Sr. during NCIS‘ holiday episodes. Will he be back at all this season? –Diane
You have great timing, because when I asked showrunner Gary Glasberg about it the other day, he and the writers happened to be in the process of breaking the episode that brings Tony’s dad back for another encore, with an eye on a possible March airdate. “We’re actually planning to see Mr. Robert Wagner a couple of times this season,” he added.

NCIS: Tony related scoop from TVGuide's Adam Bryant

Here's some scoop on NCIS from TVGuide's Adam Bryant's Mega Buzz column, which was posted on 11/18/14.

What have you got about my sexy man Tony on NCIS? — Marla, via Twitter
You definitely haven't seen the last of Keats, Tony's former partner with whom some sparks flew recently. "That connection...will come up again at some point," executive producer Gary Glasberg tells us. "It was a tough year for Tony DiNozzo last year. We're going to continue down the road of getting back to what we call the old Tony DiNozzo — [seeing him] spreading his wings a little bit and enjoying himself." But not all the character's exploration will come through love interests. Glasberg teases that Robert Wagner will return as Tony Sr. in a winter episode that offers "more insight into Tony DiNozzo when he was younger."

NCIS: Tony related scoop, scoop on the 250th episode, scoop on the spin-off and more from TVLine's Matt Webb Mitovich

Here's some scoop on NCIS from this week's (Posted on 12/13/13) Matt's Inside Line column.

Anything interesting coming up for DiNozzo on NCIS? –Mel
Fielding your query, show boss Gary Glasberg says, “Tony has had a year of real change and growth so far. Ziva said goodbye. Bishop said hello. Tony’s friendship with McGee got stronger and his bond with Gibbs wasn’t weakened by change, it was reinforced. And now, for a special 250th episode, Anthony DiNozzo Sr. (returning guest star Robert Wagner) will be back. And along with a riveting crime to solve, Tony will discover there’s a new mystery woman in his father’s life.”

NCIS‘ Michael Weatherly tweeted a while back that he was directing an episode this month. Do you have any spoilers/scoops about it? –Marla
As it would turn out, the operative words here are “a while back.” Says Gary Glasberg, “We were planning on that, but we decided to postpone it,” so that Weatherly and his wife could instead spend some quality time with their brand-new son Liam, born on Oct. 29. Weatherly’s next turn behind the camera is thus being rescheduled.

Great suggestions for NCIS: New Orleans actors. Tom Welling would be perfect as Agent LaSalle, and he needs to be back on TV. Is this a possibility? –Patricia
All I can confirm is that spin-off creator Gary Glasberg indeed saw my list of casting suggestions and, I quote, “enjoyed” it. So… I await my 10 percent?

Any word on whether NCIS will bring back family members of the team? And if so, do you happen to know which? –Daniel
Thus far, both Ralph Waite and Robert Wagner are likely (though not double-secret confirmed) to again play pop to Gibbs and DiNozzo, respectively.

NCIS: Tony related scoop on episode 10x10 from TVLine's Michael Ausiello

Here's some scoop on NCIS from this week's (Posted on 11/20/12) Ask Ausiello column.

Question: We haven’t heard much about NCIS’ Christmas episode on Dec. 18, other than Robert Wagner comes back as Tony’s dad. Got anything else? —Lonnie
Ausiello: Well, if the elder DiNozzo is coming to visit his son for the holiday, that can only mean one thing. For the very first time, “We see Tony’s apartment,” Cote de Pablo tells us. And what if anything is surprising about the bachelor’s pad and/or its decor…? “The bed he sleeps in,” de Pablo answers with a rather hearty laugh. “And that’s all I’m going to say!”

NCIS: Brings Back Robert Wagner and Daniel Luis Rivas for Season 10-TVLine

According to TVLine's Matt Webb Mitovich, Robert Wagner and Daniel Luis Rivas will be reprising their roles Anthony DiNozzo, Sr. and Abby's younger brother, Kyle, respectively in season 10 of NCIS. Here's an excerpt from the article, which gives some scoop on their appearances:

Anthony DiNozzo, Sr. will resurface “right around Christmas, in a holiday episode,” NCIS showrunner Gary Glasberg tells TVLine. “We’ve never done a Christmas one with him, so that’s fun.”

Glasberg also revealed to me — prior to Pauley Perrette sharing this photo on Twitter — that Abby’s younger brother Kyle, played by Daniel Luis Rivas, is set to return to the CBS procedural in a storyline that unfolds in the wake of the explosion that nearly killed many in the Season 9 finale. Rivas will appear in an early October episode, having first played the role a year earlier.
