Boyle’s dad Lynn (Stephen Root) and Gina’s mom Darlene (Sandra Bernhard) will be returning in an upcoming episode, where their kids will be shocked to learn they’ve been seeing each other. Word on the street is that this story will spill over into the New Year, so it’s safe to say Gina and Boyle will be tied to one another for the foreseeable future.

LeVar Burton will reprise his role as himself in the Nov. 20 episode — marking his third appearance on the CBS hitcom — when Sheldon invites the Star Trek vet to make an encore appearance on his “Fun with Flags” web series. (The same episode also brings back John Ross Bowie aka Sheldon’s frenemy Barry and Stephen Root, as Penny’s boss Don.)

Coming up this fall on Raising Hope: Jimmy meets the parent!

The Fox comedy has cast TV vet Stephen Root (NewsRadio, Pushing Daisies, The West Wing) to play the father of Jimmy’s grocery store crush Sabrina (Shannon Woodward), TVLine has learned exclusively.

Root is scheduled to appear in the episode that starts shooting next week.

Raising Hope‘s second season kicks off Tuesday, Sept. 20.
