Raising Hope: Scoop on the season 4 premiere from Entertainment Weekly's Sandra Gonzalez

Here's some scoop on Raising Hope from Entertainment Weekly's Sandra Gonzalez's The Spoiler Room column, which was posted on 10/26/13.

When does Raising Hope come back? — Marie
It’s called GOOGLE, Marie. Gosh. Kidding. But seriously, lady, get it together! Raising Hope premieres Nov. 15, and in the episode, we meet guest star Jeffrey Tambor (Arrested Development), who is playing a role with a secret twist! I’d give you three guesses, but I think you’ll only need two. (Yeah, I’m not giving you TOO much credit.) But even after the big reveal of which I speak, look for the character to drop another revelation by episode’s end that will change the way Virginia sees her past forever. Guys, it’s so good. Watch it. And watch this.

Raising Hope: Scoop on a family vacation in season 4 from TVLine's Michael Ausiello

Here's some scoop on Raising Hope from this week's (Posted on 8/20/13) Ask Ausiello column.

Question: I know it’s not coming back till November, but that just makes me all the more anxious for some Raising Hope scoop. Got any? –Erick
Ausiello: The Chase family is going on vacation, and according to showrunner Mike Mariano, they’ll wind up on a boat — with one small catch: “There’s no water involved.” Secondly, the installment will feature an appearance by guest star Bernie Kopell — but the former Love Boat doc won’t be anywhere near the aforementioned vessel. “He’s playing the proprietor of a stuffed-animal museum, and he’s very funny” says Mariano. “My reference for Bernie is as Siegfried on Get Smart, so making a Love Boat reference never crossed my mind.”

Fox renews 'The Following' plus 3 comedies | Inside TV | EW.com

The-Following

According to Entertainment Weekly's James Hibberd, Fox has renewed The Following for a second season, New Girl for a third season, Raising Hope for a fourth season, and The Mindy Project for a second season. Here's an excerpt from the article, which gives some details on these renewals:

All the shows Fox picked up today were considered likely to return, though the recent numbers for Raising Hope and Mindy Project are below the levels that Fox would have likely found acceptable a year or two ago. The Following has averaged 11.7 million viewers and a 4.0 rating among adults 18-9 when including seven days of DVR playback. New Girl has averaged 6.4 million viewers and 3.5 rating; Mindy Project has 4 million and a 2.1 rating; Raising Hope has 4.5 million and a 2.0 rating. Fox will continue its cable-sized-seasons strategy with The Following, ordering another 15 episodes instead of the usual 22-episode full season.

“From the very beginning, we felt Kevin Williamson and Marcos Siega had created a high-quality, edge-of-your-seat drama that could break from the pack, and it is exciting to see the audience responding,” said Fox entertainment chairman Kevin Reilly in a statement regarding The Following. “Kevin Bacon and James Purefoy have given us two of the most compelling characters on television and the entire cast is incredible. I’m delighted to have this thrill ride continue on Fox for another season.” Regarding the comedy pickups Reilly added, “these shows are creatively vibrant, they have established a loyal and passionate audience and they will continue to define and grow the Fox comedy brand next season and beyond.”

My thoughts: I'm honestly not surprised that New Girl and The Following have both been renewed since they're both doing fairly well in the ratings. New Girl's season three renewal is definitely the renewal that I'm most excited about since it's one of my favorite TV shows. I haven't watched The Following yet, but I've been wanting to check it out for a while. Now that The Following has been renewed for a second season, I'm definitely going to check it out.

However, I'm definitely kind of surprised that Raising Hope has been renewed for a fourth season since the show's ratings seem to have declined considerably this season, but since I've always liked the show I'm not really going to question the show's renewal. That being said, I'm definitely very surprised that The Mindy Project has been renewed for a second season. Honestly, I'm surprised that The Mindy Project is still on the air considering the fact that the show's ratings have never been very good. Although, I've seen a few episodes of The Mindy Project and I've liked what I've seen of the show, so I guess I'm glad that it has been renewed too.

The Big Bang Theory: Leonard related scoop and scoop on Raj's first date with Kate Micucci's character from E! Online's Kristin Dos Santos

Here's some scoop on The Big Bang Theory from Kristin Dos Santos' Spoiler Chat for Wednesday 2/6/13.

Annie: Bummed that TBBT's Leonard and Penny got knocked out of the TV's Top Couples...so spoilers would be appreciated.
Leonard starts to question a big part of his life in an upcoming episode. No, not Penny; his career. A visit to a grade school to talk about how he became a scientist sort of puts him on a quarter-life crisis spiral. On a happier note, Raj manages to have a successful date with a girl, while sober! How does that happen? Through texting, of course.

Any Big Bang Theory scoop to share? — Luke
We’ve already told you about Raj’s possible new love interest, played by Raising Hope’s Kate Micucci, but what we didn’t share is that their first date conveniently takes place in a library — you know, where you have to be quiet. Oh, Raj. Meanwhile, in the same episode, Leonard is going to reveal his one-time career aspiration: to be a b—- —c–!

The Big Bang Theory: Raising Hope's Kate Micucci to Play Love Interest for Raj-Hollywood Reporter

Big Bang Theory Casts Kate Micucci

According to The Hollywood Reporter's Lesley Goldberg, Kate Micucci has been cast in a recurring guest-star role as a potential love interest for Raj on The Big Bang Theory. Here's an excerpt from the article, which gives some details on Micucci's role:

While details about the role are being kept under wraps, Micucci will appear in multiple episodes and play Lucy, a potential love interest for Kunal Nayyar's lovelorn Raj. She'll first appear in the Valentine's Day episode on Feb. 14.

The half-hour, titled "The Tangible Affection Proof," is shaping up to be a special one. "It's a big one for Leonard and Penny -- there might be somebody getting down on one knee," co-star Johnny Galecki (Leonard) recently told THR of the Valentine's Day episode. "We never started doing holiday event shows until two or three seasons in, when we did the Christmas episode. That was a big hit, and we struck a chord of sentimentality with our audience, and we'll continue to do so. The Valentine's Day episode will be that."

Buzz about a love interest for Raj first surfaced last summer at Comic-Con, where exec producer Chuck Lorre teased that season six might bring some good luck with the opposite sex for the shy character. "We have a romance planed for Raj this year," he said in July. "Wait until you see it!"

Link to the full article:'The Big Bang Theory': 'Raising Hope' Actress to Play Love Interest for Raj (Exclusive) - Hollywood Reporter

My thoughts: I'm really excited about this news for several reasons. First off, I love Kate Micucci on Raising Hope, so it will be really fun to see her on The Big Bang Theory. That being said, I'm beyond thrilled that the producers are finally giving Raj a love interest that will hopefully be around for more than one episode. The news of Raj getting a somewhat long-term love interest is beyond long overdue, if you ask me. I know that some people have suggested that the writers should just have Raj come out of the closet and date men for the rest of the series, but I don't think that would be a good idea. After all, the writers have shown that Raj is very good with women, as long as he drinks alcohol when he's around them. That being said, it will be very interesting to see how the writers plan on working around Raj's inability to talk to women without drinking alcohol if Kate Micucci sticks around for a little while.

Raising Hope: Scoop on the upcoming musical episodes from TVLine's Michael Ausiello

Here's some scoop on Raising Hope from this week's (Posted on 1/22/13) Ask Ausiello column.

Question: Got any scoop on Raising Hope, one of the most underrated shows on TV? —Rebecca
Ausiello: Get ready for Raising Hope: The Musical… er, Musicals! In not one but two (consecutive) episodes, the show is gonna go all Glee on us. First up is “The Old Girl,” in which Virginia, undercover as a co-ed (don’t ask!), accidentally wins the affections of a member of the Cliff Notes, a college acapella group. The following week, in “Burtmitzvah,” the owner of Natesville’s deli tries to explain to Burt – via song, of course! – what it means to be Jewish. Mazeltov!

Here's some scoop on Raising Hope from Entertainment Weekly's Sandra Gonzalez's The Spoiler Room column, which was posted on 1/22/13.

Anything on Jimmy and Sabrina’s wedding on Raising Hope? — Melissa
The Jan. 29 affair will be one to remember. Let’s just say on a scale of William and Kate to April and Andy, it ranks about Jim and Pam on the class level. Totally respectable. But one thing none of those weddings had that Jimmy and Sabrina’s will: a surprise wedding crasher! And when I say it’s a surprise, trust me, you won’t see it coming.

It's wedding time! Jimmy and Sabrina are getting hitched, y'all! Of course, nothing is ever easy for the Chances and Jimmy's special day is no different. Here are three things you can expect to see in the ep: botched RSVPs (no one will be raving about the food after this party!), a sneaky liquor store owner and a high school gym teacher who lettered in interrupting weddings. Yikes!

We're pretty sure a picture of Cloris Leachman receiving a lap dance is in the dictionary next to the definition of hilarious, right? That's exactly what you are going to see later this season when Sabrina mistakes a pizza delivery guy for a stripper and forces him to give—or try to give—a lapdance to Maw Maw.

Raising Hope: Scoop on the season 3 premiere from Zap2it's Carina Adly MacKenzie

Here's some scoop on Raising Hope from Carina Adly MacKenzie's Monday Kickstart column for the week of 9/17/12.

"Raising Hope": The season premiere introduces us and the Chance family to Melanie Griffith as Sabrina's mom -- which, OK, we already knew. What you'll discover, though, is that back in his goth/Drakar Noir phase, Jimmy encountered Mrs. Collins once before ... and got rather, um, friendly with her. Needless to say, this does not go over especially well, but flashbacks to goth Jimmy are never not funny.

Raising Hope: Jimmy and Sabrina related scoop on season 3 from Entertainment Weekly's Sandra Gonzalez

Here's some scoop on Raising Hope from Entertainment Weekly's Sandra Gonzalez's The Spoiler Room column, which was posted on 9/8/12.

Doctor Who! Raising Hope! — @xxtriplestarxx
I’ll take Raising Hope because there are two teases I’ve been dying to share: 1) The death Sabrina’s granny ends up launching Sabrina and Jimmy into serious discussions about nuptials. And after several twists and turns, the episode will end on a note that I certainly wasn’t expecting. 2) Drakkar Noir makes his return!! And in this flashback, a twist is revealed that involves someone close to Sabrina…

Raising Hope: Burt and Virginia related scoop on season 3 from E! Online's Kristin Dos Santos

Here's some scoop on Raising Hope from Kristin Dos Santos' Spoiler Chat Daily for Tuesday 8/28/12.

Gordon: Raising Hope scoop…preferably on Burt and Virginia…my favorite married couple on TV.
Burt and Virginia are going undercover to infiltrate the treacherous world of country clubs. "We're not really trying to join a country club, we just want to know more about the members of the country club," Martha Plimpton tells us. And to do that, they make up hilarious fake identities. "I'm the manager of rock and roll equipment manufacturing company, as well as a private detective," Garret Dillahunt reveals. "And I'm a nurse and a lawyer," Plimpton adds. As you can imagine, this whole ploy goes awry.

Raising Hope: Jimmy and Sabrina related scoop on season 3 from TVLine's Matt Webb Mitovich

Here's some scoop on Raising Hope from TVLine's Matt Webb Mitovich's weekly column Matt's Inside Line for the week of 7/27/12.

Raising Hope | Are Jimmy and Sabrina heading for a wedding? Lucas Neff told me that amidst all sorts of “traumatic things happening in the Chance household” during Season 3 – including some packed into a two-part October episode – there specifically are “some changes for Jimmy – a big life step is about to happen for him that I’m very excited about.” So, is Jimmy going to pop the question…? “I can’t speak to that,” Neff deflected with a wide grin. “I’m just saying, ‘Tune in Tuesdays at 8/7 Central, on Fox’!”
