Here's some scoop on You're the Worst from Entertainment Weekly's Natalie Abrams' The Spoiler Room column, which was posted on 8/10/17.

How will Gretchen be handling Jimmy’s disappearing act on You’re the Worst this season? — Malloy
Not well. Not well at all. Believe me, Gretchen does something so shocking in the premiere — and enlists Lindsay to do it, too — that you will have to remind yourself of the title of the show before you fall down a rabbit hole. And it only gets worse from there. “There’s some weird sh— that goes down,” Aya Cash says. “There are so many different kinds of bad, let me put it that way.” Even so, Cash has hopes that Gretchen and Jimmy will eventually reconcile. “I do because this show is about them and they’re going to have to figure it out,” she says. “I feel like we’re heading toward something positive. They start to work out how to be around each other and how to engage in a healthier way.” But will she get payback on Jimmy for abandoning her? “Yes,” Cash says with a smirk.

Question: What can you tell me about this new season of You’re the Worst? —Amanda
Ausiello: In the Aug. 31 premiere, Kether Donohue’s Lindsay does something so outlandish and insane — even for the FXX comedy — that at first I thought it was part of a dream sequence. (P.S. It’s not.)

You're the Worst: Scoop on how the show will deal with Gretchen’s depression in season 3 from TVLine's Michael Ausiello

https://flavorwire.files.wordpress.com/2015/09/ytw_203_0648d_hires2.jpg?w=728&h=489&crop=1

Here's some scoop on You're the Worst from this week's (Posted on 1/22/16) Ask Ausiello column.

Question: You’re the Worst is one of the best shows on TV right now, especially due to recent performances by Aya Cash. However, the show has gotten really dark lately. What does the future hold for Jimmy and Gretchen, and will the show return to its sarcastic, funny roots anytime soon? Thanks! —Danielle
Ausiello: Series creator Stephen Falk is contemplating that very question as he writes Season 3. When it comes to handling Gretchen’s depression, Falk admits he has “a duty to portray it in a realistic way. It’s something that doesn’t just go away. We don’t want to get bogged down with it and have it overtake the show… but we’re not going to let it go away.” That said, star Chris Geere is hoping that brighter days are ahead for the show’s central couple. “Season 2 was very ‘Jimmy vs. Gretchen,'” Geere says, “and I’m hoping that Season 3 will be ‘Jimmy and Gretchen vs. the world.'”

The final minute of this week’s You’re the Worst killed me. Give me hope for the finale! — Drea
If you thought Gretchen would just move on after learning that Jimmy hooked up with another woman, you’ve forgotten the name of this show. Gretch will naturally scope Nina out at her bar, leading to a scene that will have you both chuckling and cringing.

Anything You’re the Worst would be great. — Amy
I watched the first two episodes last night and have to say that the show returns even stronger than the superb first season. Now that Jimmy and Gretchen are living together, though, they’re struggling with what domesticity means. “We’ll see right from the very first frame Jimmy and Gretchen being very reticent to be a boring couple and in fact, in the first episode, going way, way, way out of the way to not be a boring couple at great detriment to their health and a lot of laws,” EP Stephen Falk says.

You're the Worst: Scoop on the future of Jimmy and Gretchen's relationship and more on season 2 from Entertainment Weekly's Natalie Abrams

Is it too early to get any scoop on the new season of You’re the Worst? — Tim
Never too early! Jimmy and Gretchen have not weaseled out of the season finale events and are, in fact, still living with each other. I know this because I got the lowdown on a special outing—no, not Sunday Funday. Taking a tip from Robin Sparkles, the foursome are headed to… the mall! No seriously, I hear there’s an entire episode where they all head to their local mall. Jimmy is searching for literary inspiration, while Edgar and Lindsay are a little more practical on the hunt for wings, of the chicken variety. But Gretchen faces one of her toughest challenges when she attempts to buy adult things, like a toothbrush.

You're the Worst & Married: Renewed for Second Season

According to Entertainment Weekly's Dan Snierson, FX has renewed both You're The Worst and Married for a second season, which will both consist of 13 episodes. You're The Worst will be moving to FXX, while Married will remain on FX for its second season. Here's an excerpt from the original article, which gives some information on the ratings for the two show's first seasons:

The two shows wrapped their 10-episode first season on Sept. 18. Married averaged nearly 2 million weekly viewers in season 1, while You’re The Worst averaged 1.65 million.

My thoughts: I've spent a lot of time in the hospital over the past several months, so I've unfortunately only seen the first episode of You're The Worst, but I was able to watch several episodes of Married. While I liked the first episode of You're The Worst and I definitely want to see the rest of the show's first season, Married is definitely my favorite of the two shows. The thing that made want to watch Married when it first started was the fact that Judy Greer is one of the stars of the show. I've been a fan of hers for years, and I've liked her in pretty much everything that I've seen her in. I really like her on Married.

Honestly, I very surprised and happy that both shows have been renewed for a second season considering the fact that neither of the shows had the greatest ratings. I'm especially happy about the fact that both show's second seasons will have 13 episodes instead of just 10 episodes like their first seasons did. Although, FX has always come across as a network that's willing to give new TV shows that have low ratings a chance to let their audiences grow considering the fact that the ratings for It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia's first season were apparently very low. Fortunately, FX renewed it and brought in Danny DeVito in the hopes that him joining the cast would bring in new viewers. It worked and now it's going into its 10th season and has also been renewed through season 12.

For the record, I didn't start watching It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia until the show was in its sixth season, but I now consider it to be my favorite comedy that's currently on TV. (Sorry, Modern Family. I absolutely love you, but at the end of the day It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is still my favorite comedy.) That being said, I really hope that both You're The Worst and Married will be lucky enough to have their ratings grow in season two like It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia did. Married is definitely my favorite of the two shows, but I still hope that You're The Worst stays on the air for a long time along with Married.
