Dallas: Steven Weber cast as Governor-TVLine

Dallas Season 2 Spoilers: Steven Weber

According to TVLine's Matt Webb Mitovich, Steven Weber has been cast in a recurring guest-star role on TNT's Dallas. Here's an excerpt from the article, which gives some details on Weber's role:

TVLine has learned exclusively that Weber will play Governor McConaughey, an ambitious politico who conspires with Cliff Barnes and Harris Ryland — a gruesome twosome if ever there was — to take down the Ewing family.

Weber will first air in Season 2′s 12th episode.

My thoughts: I for one am really excited that Steven Weber will be guest-starring on Dallas later this season. With the exception of the massive misfire of casting Jesse Metcalfe as Christopher Ewing, the casting for Dallas has been phenomenal for the most part. Casting Steven Weber in a recurring guest-star role is definitely another win for the producers' track record for doing a good job of casting the roles on the show. I've seen Steven on a lot of TV shows over the years (Wings, Brothers & Sisters, Parenthood, and most recently Malibu Country) and I've loved him in everything that I've seen him in. I can't wait to see Steven on Dallas.

When Dallas first started, it in combination with Revenge more than satisfied my constant craving for nighttime soap operas, but I have to say that based on all of the season two episodes of TNT's Dallas, it alone is more than satisfying my craving for nighttime soap operas at the moment. I still love Revenge, but I'm definitely not enjoying season two nearly as much as I loved Revenge's first season. When it comes to Dallas' second season, I would definitely say that I'm enjoying season two more than I liked the first season, and I loved the first season. Don't get me wrong, Dallas' second season hasn't been perfect, but I definitely have a lot less complaints about this season than I did last season. In my opinion, there were at least two, maybe three episodes that were basically filler in the first season, which I don't think is a good thing considering the fact that the first season only had ten episodes. Season two on the other hand has been pretty much been nothing but full of excitement and intrigue, but I digress. If you would like to know more about my thoughts on Dallas' first season, then I would recommend reading my review of the first season (Dallas (TNT Series): My thoughts on season 1). I'm finishing up my review of the first four episodes of season two, and the next review on my list of reviews that I need to write is my review for this past Monday's episode.
